Has anyone ever tried the tanabe s-oc II? I am asking this because i am planning on buying these because they are about the maximum i want to spend($800) and i just want something like a beginer's set of coilovers that are pretty simple and cheap???

For that price i think you can find better coilovers... I know Megans are around that price for the track versions which will have better valving and spring rates than those. Im not 100% sure about tanabe but, most companies have their cheap series of coilovers made in taiwan or china or one of those countries anyways.. So i would suggest Megan.
I have never tried the Tanabe s-oc II but i know they are in the same line as the Tein basics n stuff... I have tried Megan Track Series and they are a very decent track/street setup. But it is all up to you...

No there made in Japan and have KYB stamped on them (same as stock) I have them. I've only had them for two month's but they are very comfortable on the street:2f2f:. I've never rode in another car with coilovers so the only thing I can compare them to is my old integra with lowering springs. So compared to the teg the car soaks up bumps and road ireagularites beter while keeping the car just as flat on hard turns, I like:bigok:.
