So Im not doing too hot financially (as im sure many of you are in the same boat) so Im coming within 5 dollars of cleaning my account out between paychecks(bills and shit). Anyways I go to check my bank acct online about everyother day. Last night I went on to see that bank of america charged me my overdraft protection fee, that they had just charged me on the 26th of july, and it caused my acct to overdraft. Not the first thing that they have fucked me on, so needless to say, Im looking for a new bank. Who do you guys bank with and how do you like it?

I bank with PNC... Only because they bought out the local bank. So far they're pretty good. My buddy banks with Commerce, they don't let you spend under $25, it can be annoying at times but sometimes it comes in handy.

checking with chase . checking is ok...not so bad. nothing bad worth noting, their savings is terrible for me anyway. only bad thing that happened to me with chase is that i withdrew from my savings 4 times in one month and they charged me a withdrawl fee (curse them!).

savings with hsbcdirect. online savings account gets me a good percent. plus they have interest on the checking accounts also. i would recommend taking a look at Online Savings, Online Payment and Online CD Accounts, HSBC Direct (http://www.hsbcdirect.com), not sure about their policy when it comes to overdrafts and such though. never happened to me yet...

Tried that one time where They overdrafted me on a keep the change transfer of like 6 dollars, then they overdrafted me on to overdraft fee?????? and then I bought a 50 cent candy bar and that cost me another 35. 115 dollars and all I got was a damn candy bar. I went to the bank and bitched and got them to waive the initial overdraft for keep the change... but that was it.

A local Credit Union, but most of money is with INGDirect. Good interest rates on their savings accounts. Only downside is the 4-5 business day wait between transferring funds between accounts.

BOA will not pull keep the change into your savings if there is a low acct balance and you'll OD.

I work for BoA and bank here as well. I also have a reserve account with a local credit union, and another at navy Fed Credit union.

If you have questions on the Bank's policies please PM me. I cannot waive monthly service fee's, od fee's, open accounts, etc. I work for Global Wealth Investment Management. All of the clients I work with run 500k-3mm in liquid deposits, and are bannered as such. If I touch a non-premier account it raises eyebrows and can get me tanked. I'll try to help as much as I can though.

Just saw this. If you have direct deposit switch to MyAccess. If you are a student switch to CampusEdge. Just call and ask for an account type change, or go into a banking center.

HSBC Direct for my savings, and my local bank for checking. HSBC makes it easy to transfer money to and from my local bank, so I only keep what I need month-to-month there.

God they fucked me harder than Ron Jeremy.... I'll never bank with them again.

I have Capital One as far as credit, and the local credit union for savings, checking. I'm happy with both.

BofA.

You just need to get the right checking account. If you overdraft a lot, get a credit card from BofA then whenever you overdraft you get credited money from your credit card. Not only do I have that but I have a program called "keep the change." Whenever I spend change (for example $2.25.) you get credited change rounded to the nearest upper dollar (for $2.25, you get $.75 into the keep the change account). At the end of the month the keep the change amount goes into your checking account, and I place that money towards my credit card.
I really don't need the overdraft protection no more though, I'm doing pretty well for myself. I usually place things on my MasterCard Black Card. That's what happens when you have a 750 credit score! yah yah.

arrowhead credit union. been w them for 2 years now. not too bad no hidden fees or ridiculous overdraft fees because the tellers are kind enough to waive it off if you ask.

Keep the change seems sorta ridiculous to me. If you want to save money then just set some money aside at the end of every month. If you're wiping your checking account dry every month then you need to deal with spending issues before you worry about trying to save money.

I bank with WaMu, I'll be changing some of my banking needs to North Island FCU next month though.

Wells Fargo and i just opened up an account with USAA. havent heard anything but good about USAA, but you cant use them unless you are affiliated with the miltary somehow. Wells Fargo is a pretty good bank. I've been with them for about 5 years now and have only had a few minor problems.

us bank.... they have really good customer service... they will waive 3 overdraft fees when you call their 1800 number, and u can get 2 more waived when you call your branch... also they have a reserve line of credit that you can add to your checking account so if you overdraft, it will draw from that and you wont get overdraft fees...

oh yea and they have really good online banking...

i think u should go with us bank :mepoke:

Bank of America for my business accounts (checking)

Washington Mutual for my personal (checking and savings)

Chase for credit cards.

Sallie Mae for college loans.

I never let one bank handle all my finances.

Make them all beg and earn for my business.

Overdraft fees are always high as hell at any financial institution you got to just stay on top of your balances to make sure you have at least the minimum required amount to keep the account active. If you are able to check your account balances on a daily basis then you're doing your best.

Any "extra" income I clean it and funnel it to my off-shore accounts......I'm kidding...........or am I.:naughty:

I work at BofA, so I have a few accounts here...

Most of my money is at a credit union though.

CC's with chase/bofa/capitol one

As for overdrafts, it's not hard to watch your money. People that come into the bank mad over our overdraft fees crack me up.
"So you're mad at us, because you cannot manage your money. We did you a favor and paid this out for you, so you didn't bounce the check, yet you're mad at US?"
"Yes"
...?

I'm not surprised bank of america fucked you. They fucked me, my GF and her sister. They charged he sister overdraft fees when she had about 700 in her account. They closed my account due to inactivity and donated my money to the state. Alot of people swear by bank of america, I say fuck'em.

After I graduate and stop dealing with the Federal Credit union from back at home, I will probably do [email protected]

USAA for my bank in the states and DoD Community Bank out here in Oki. USAA in the states is THE SHIT. I did everything thru them, bank, insurance, car loans, anything financial related. DoD bank is okay...only thing really great about them is they give out low interest, unsecured loans like its fucking candy. Well take that back, not sure if thats really that great cuz they got me for 3 loans right now and Im back about $8k on personnal loans. Interest rates were 8% and the last ones 10%. Still lower than a fucking credit card.

I think what Im going to do is keep my MFCU for savings (there's none within like 400 miles of me, which is y I used BOA) Compass bank for food and gas and chase for all my bills and shit. And yea, I too have overdrafted at boa with an account balance of 600? That was a while ago though, but this just topped it off.
