View Full Version : Sunroof does not fully work/function

1997 240sx LE

My sunroof tilts up, but dont not slide up. It dosent make any type of noise at all when i push the button for it to slide back. The tilt works, but thats it.

Any ideas?

The OE roof doesn't slide up, it slides in. There's two switches, one for tilt and one for slide.

I know this is not the same car, but same kind of question. Do the S13 power sunroofs tilt up or do they only slide in?

They came in auto? Maybe in the pignose cause my chuki its manuel.. im not sure im pretty sure it just tilts up.

And as for the s14 it just tilts up it does not slide or thats what my brothers s14 does. But i've seen some that slide all the way up

The power sunroofs in the coupe slide backwards (inside the roof) and pop up.

The FBs only pop up.

Your brother's is not OE. Don't speak of aftermarket unless that's what the topic at hand is about. Aftermarket roofs are generally larger and slide up over the roof, not in.

S14 and S13 coupe OE roofs tilt up/down and slide INTO the roof. Same as any other Nissan model with a power roof.

Awesome thanks! I have a two-tone coupe with a power sunroof and I haven't really messed with the car that much (bought it with a blown motor) and I tried the sunroof and it went back but it didn't seem to want to tilt up. I have to look everything over cause the passenger window was off the track as well.

Well yes, sliding into the roof is what i am talking about. I think I found the problem though, Fried switch

Only on the coupe. Fastbacks have the popup removable glass.

hmm.. now that i think about it, that actually makes sense. theres no room on the fastback roof for it to be auto.

I wouldn't buy a coupe without one. I love having a sunroof. I love my pignose. It's all win-win.
