so I have a built ka24de motor (s13) and I cant get it bleed right, and I think it might be my cometic HG. The car does not smoke at start up but last night it did smoke a bit(just a tiny bit) but it stopped as soon as I started moving and didnt come back and the funny thing is the in the car heater is blowing hot air but still its not bleed!

i have to compression test it today to see if the HG is leaking or what but if the HG was leaking coolant wouldnt I see it dripping down the side of the block? or at least near where the block meets the head? the car IDles perfectly and doesnt seem to have any issues reving(the car doesnt blow white smoke at all when driving) or holding Idle.

You might wanna do a leak down test. Im not too sure on if compression test would be to promising on testing for it. I could be wrong so someone please chime in if so. Thanks.

when people talk about bleeding they generaly refer to air trapped in cooling system which caused overheating issues, but you talk about smoking but that makes no since... at least to me.

as far as coolant leaks or oil, if you did not deck the block or resurface the head or plug up oil gallery brass plug near front of hte block it may leak oil/coolant.

so botto line is what are you trying to diagnose smoking at start up? could be valve seals allowign oil to leak down when engine is off... iam still very confused why you are talkinga about coolant bleeding

compression test will nto tell you if HG is leaking, it will tell you that cylinder is not holding pressure but it can be rings valves and/or head gasket

i know i am going to get more bad rep, but from reading what you say i really dont think you understand what bleeding is
