hi
so, i have a problem getting my sr to start up. it cranks, but doesn't start. heres the story...
its a rebuilt motor, and i finally dropped it into my car last week. the engine harness was already done up to work with a us 240sx by the previous owner of the motor.
so while the motor was out, i decided to do a wire tuck job, since i thought it would be much easier while the motor is out. (extended injector wires, maf wires, and also the cas wires)
dropped it in, plugged everything up, and tried to start it (without a maf) i know that it runs like crap without a maf, but it should still be able to start up without a maf right?
so i tried to start it, it would crank, but not start. checked if i was getting fuel, and i was. then checked if i was getting spark, and i wasnt. so i took out my ecu, and tried my friends ecu, and with his ecu, i got spark and fuel, but still, it didnt start.
would it be that the timing is off? maybe a bad cas?
i know i did the timing chain install right, and i know i installed the cas right too. maybe its just a bad cas?
please help me out with this. help will be greatly appreciated, and posi rep will be given out to those who give me some good info thanks in advance

btw, has 550cc injectors and a stock fuel pump for now

stock ecu? make sure your timing is right, and get a MAF on there. it's going to be hard to troubleshoot, let alone start, with out it all hooked up right. 550's and stock MAF/ECU might not work the best.

you can find a SOHC maf and use it.

Stock ECU + 550 injectors won't work. put in some stock 370's or get an AFC, EMS, etc. or something to control those 550's.
