That gas prices have dropped by a lot i just went to put gas last night and the shits down to almost $3.90 for mid range gas. I'm so happy i can finally fill up my tank with only 40 bucks again lol.

Gas prices fall below $3.80 on average at the pump - Aug. 12, 2008 (http://money.cnn.com/2008/08/12/news/economy/fuel.ap/index.htm?cnn=yes)

Yea, its like $3.83 for regular here in San Diego. I thought it would go up a little because of the Georgian-Russian conflict going on, must take a while I figure.

idk about you but my sr gets about the same gas mileage my ka did...lol just depends on how you drive it, i suppose you could rip through gas a hell of a lot faster if you are in boost all over the place, just drive more reasonable

They are going down right now for factual reasons but it will come back up for some "reason" right before labor day weekend.

i filled up for 3.48 last night.

and look at all of us excited over 3.50-3.80 per gallon. imagine if it got down to 3/gallon, how excited we'd be. but a year ago that would have been blasphemy. we've been played

Its funny cause here we are thinking "

oh shit $3.?? a gallon.....thats cheap!"

I think that they raise they prices soo high for this exact reason.

So we could think that gas is cheap all of a sudden.

That has nothing to do with anything. China and India cutting their government subsidies and Americans using less gas this year for pretty much the first time ever i'm sure have more to do with it (not that I defend the current administration), just keepin it real. Plus, the summer driving season is winding down.

just filled up at 4.01. it's nice but it's continuing to drop. A barrel of oil has dropped 20% and gas at the pump has still only dropped less than 5%. Gas stations realized that they could slowly raise the gas prices to regain profit while the price of gas is dropping. it will continue to drop. I just hate the fact that gas rises faster than it drops.

Yep i remember when i was like 15 years old and going to the gas station with my grandfather to fill up his tank and gas was around 1 something he would complain that it was so expensive lol. I can imagine what he would say now lol

singlecamslam
08-12-2008, 11:48 AM
^^ man i was complaining last year hella bad when it was like 2.50. Even if gas would be 2.00 a gallon right now they would still be making profit, they wont lower it that much because they see no matter how high gas goes people will still keep buying it, i'm guessing gas will go back up again...... *sigh* scooter time.

^^^ So true economy has us by the BALLZ everyone owns a car and in order for that car to run you need gas. So no matter the price people will still buy it.

That's inelastic demand for ya. I'm wondering if the almost ignorable decrease in gas purchasing, due to higher scooter, bike, hybrid sales, has anything to do with this. I remember when I first got my car in '03; I was paying $20 for about a 3/4 tank, and I'd be PISSED hahaha.

I'm not convinced since gas prices started going ballistic I've noticed a trend. It rises, sometimes slowly sometimes in spurts till it reaches a "new" high, it stays there for a while changing price by mere cents, then it retracts down about 20 cents, then shoots back up.

It did this when the new high was 2.30 it dropped down to about 1.80 then shot up, when gas "topped" at 2.99 it dropped down to what i think was 2.53 then shot up past three.

I fully expect gas to shoot up again sometime soon. I hope I am wrong but who really knows

paid 3.49 today for regular, most of the gas stations around me are ~3.55-3.60 for reg, but then mid and premium are way over $4 still.
