With hardly any power?

I've had this j30 diff in my cars for the past 5 years or so...

I thought it was just a really bad wheel bearing...

I take the mo'busta apart and see that almost half of the splines on the pinion have sheared off.

This diff has seen probably 60k miles of stock turbo sr power, and about 20k miles of gt2871 power.

Never seen slicks, not really drift'ed too much, not too many 1/4 mile passes

I dont get it, dont dudes make a bazillion passes with waaaay more power with these things?

things get tired. Mine blew a hole in my diff. cover and shattered the spider gears and i was just driving down the road at the time. But then again mine had a hard life.

if it wasn't shimmed proper it will eat it self for breakfast lunch and dinner.

get a 300zx diff. or q45, I THINK it may be beefier

it's a used part - yours could have just been worse than the norm.
