I know the obvious timing chain rattle but besides that

video is a cold start backed up and lifted my hood and began recording

what should I look for to see if my engine is running in good condition?

It is most definitely the chain rattle. I think removing the chain guide will get rid of like 80% of that.

Other than that...it sounds like a KA. LOL. I had that noise from all of the KA's that I have owned even with the upper timing chain guide removed. I think it's just something you have to deal with. (Really clean KA)

I think your motor sounds fine....normal......I don't think you really need to do anything with it.....

If it sounds worse, then you'll need it.....

My KA is pretty quiet at idle. Only thing I hear is a small exhaust leak.

Sounds pretty normal besides the chain. My guides were removed by a previous owner and it doesn't really make any noise like that, I just have some valve noise like a honda or something :D

"what should I look for to see if my engine is running in good condition?"

I would imagine a compression test would tell you for sure how well things are with your motor.

Everybody keeps saying "timing chain guide", like there's only one of them... Theres TWO upper guides that need to be removed, along with making sure the tensioner is in good working order.
