View Full Version : LOST PROJECTS - anyone know Ian's home address
Grant

as you know, this guy screwed many people over, and took off with a large sum of money. His business address and phone numbers are no longer valid.
Now a personal friend of mine (no names mentioned here), has just informed me that he owes him over $1000.
his name is Ian Hannigan but could be an alias.
Anyways, any of you who actually know this guy or met him in florida, I would greatly appreciate it if I could get a home phone number or address, thanks.

Hint: Do a Yahoo people search. Worked wonders a while back while having to do some super sleuthing to help out a friend in CA, concerning thee exact same subject.

If you find that bastard let me know too!
On a different note, using people search on yahoo is kinda weird. While I was looking up myself as an example, it threw me to another website called US search. For 60bucks I could have access to crap that spans back 10 years!

i bought his car from him, for $8000, so, he should have money to pay all you fools back. it's been a while though, so, if he hasn't contacted you, i don't know if he will. i have been in contact with both his brother and his wife/significant other. it seems he is in pensylvania for the time being for some family business. i have been very patient with him, as i am sure many of you have. my lawyer and i have begun to discuss our possible courses of action. i am sorry it had to come to this. he seemed like an ok guy. even though i heard he was dicking people over and shady, i still bought his car because he said he was selling it to pay you all back. hope things work out.
karma will settle the score, eventually...

wait i thought he moved, i started the thread a while back on this prick. I could not care if he's made mistakes in the past or what, but it's now a year over due. I should have just had my friends beat the crap out of him when they went to the house.
The guy is a flamer, and i would suggest not beating the bush to scare a snake, spend the money for fraud charges in his county and have his ass hauled off to jail.
3k or bubba doing his ram air in to ian's rear, sounds like a fair trade.

I'm pressing charges on Ian as we speak. Owes me $750. I gave him a last chance to refund me 3 weeks ago. He said he was "doing it right now" and thats the last I heard and still haven't received my money. I'm filing grand theft charges on him and some other joker named Chad Lenert from All Revved Up who also lives/lived in Tampa. The doors I bought but never received are actually for sale on Ebay at this very moment. The seller says he got them at a police auction.
Grant As far as I know, the number and address posted above is correct. If not and someone knows a more current address & number, please email it to me.

i can understand everyone wants their money but honestly do u think u will get it?
u can take him to court and file small claims and stuff but if he doesnt have money how can he pay u back?
u guys should make a list of ppl and see how many ppl he screwed with proper receipts (like paypal invoices, copy of money orders, checks, and whatever u paid with and documentation of equipment he promised to issue) and then submit it to his local police station and proper federal agencies.
and file your own small claim too. this will give u guys more pull and instead of making him look like he screwed 1 guy over (your word vs his word) u can prove he is a scammer

I filed a claim with the FBI (some internet fraud division), but that was...back in june maybe? maybe even before that..since i was ripped off LAST Feb. I hear they get to it eventually..so hopefully something comes of that. I'm broke and have the world's most worthless job or else i would file a real complaint with his local law enforcement dept. and send him to small claims.

Out of curiousity, does anyone here know Raflindy melendez, he owes me a JWT ecu, its only been 2-3 months.. I'm trying to be patient with him, but it seems like he's putting me thru a ring around. I did hear that he had some association with lost projects, not sure if it was ian directly. But im starting to get a bit upset.. Hopefully he pulls thru and sends me my ecu. So far he just ignores my emails, and IM's, sometimes he will reply when i make threats. I mean the key part to selling ppl things online is to keep them updated and tell them the trueth. Hell I paid him in full, in november.. and now its almost Feb!! Ah well some ppl are out to rip everyone off i guess?

im guessing he did a fly-by-night and took off.. lots of people do this. and there is really little you can do about it legally.

The assistant District Attorney is whole heartedly working this issue. Depending on the extent of the probable fraud, the case will most likely be handed over to the federal level.
Will keep everyone posted. He should be apprehended upon corroboration/review of evidence received up to this point. There are at least a half a dozen of grand theft charges pending review.

He owes me $600 or an HPI intercooler. For the people in FL who know him (RINKU), This is Chris' brother. My brother used to live with Eric, and almost opened a shop with Ian. So I trusted my $600 wouldnt get stolen. Ive heard that he never even got a shipment from HPI, he was supposed to get it way back around september 02. I dont know if I have old emails, or proof, since my outlook express crashed... so this sucks. But you can add me to the list of people he's screwed. I dropped off a check to him last Sunday.
I am not gonna add wood to the fire because I usually give people the benefit of the doubt..
He lives in New Tampa just past County line(off Bruce B Downs). There is a Publix near his neighborhood.
The Wesley Chapel address is legit.
He is about 6'2 and 250lbs. I'd guess he is oriental(jap/chin/korean????)
He was nice to me when I spoke with him,,,and thats all really I can say. Paid him 490 by check.
I was involved in the groupbuy from clubsi.com
killrus
03-01-2003, 05:37 PM
Here is the email he sent out to the people involved with the clubsi groupbuy(I can also forward this to your email if you want, just email me):
First off, I want to thank everyone for the interest in this Groupbuy. Here are the information everyone needs in order to complete the purchase. I will periodically update this mailing list with any new information until all outstanding orders are complete.
We were able to meet the number needed in order to commence with the Koni Groupbuy; however, we were unable to reach the desired number of people for the Eibach Special.
This is to clarify that this is a real Groupbuy. The definition of a real Groupbuy, simply is that I am ONLY able to offer the products at this price if I have 10 or more orders. Hence, why I stressed in the original thread the importance of only confirming if you were 100% sure of the purchase.
With this in mind, orders will be made once the 10th payment is received. As of right now, I have already received 3 payments, leaving 7 before the order's placed. The faster everyone's able to submit the payment, the faster everyone's able to have the products in hand. For those that have already paid and for those whom are 100% in on the buy, please motivate your fellow board members and lets make this Groupbuy as successful as possible.
There are 3 different level of this Groupbuy and due to the unsuccessful Eibach Special, some changes were made. Please read carefully and make your selection.
Groupbuy #1 -
For those that are only interested in purchasing a set of Koni's. As stated in the Groupbuy, the price is $490 shipped within the 48 continental states and $510 for Canada and surrounding areas.
Groupbuy #2 -
For those that are interested in both Koni's and also Eibach's. First off, I need to apologies that we were unable to reach the potential 10 buyers. For those that are still interested in purchasing a complete set of Koni's with Eibach's, this is my proposal to you. The $490 shipped for Koni's will of course stand, but here's the change to the Eibach Special. The original deal was 60% off the retail price without shipping. The very very best that I am able to do in this case will be 50% plus a $12 shipping charge. As most of you know, the retail price for most Honda kits are $299.99. So for most of you here, the final price will be $652.00 SHIPPED.
Groupbuy #3 -
For those that are only interested in purchasing Eibachs. As you have read, we did not reach the number needed to get the original offer of 50% off the retail plus $12 shipping. This is my proposal to those that are interested in Groupbuy 3. The very best I am able to do is 40% of the retail price with the $12 shipping charge. Again, for must Hondas, the price will be $192.00 SHIPPED.
I do need to add that I have tried my very best to give everyone the best possible deal I am able to offer. I can not lie and say that I am not making any money, but the truth is that I am. I am in route to start an import business in which I am able to offer these prices at all times. For what it worth, the truth is that I am not making enough for this be worthwhile. Once this Groupbuy's complete, for those that are satisfied with my service, please help me build up the reputation that every business needs on the net, that is what will make this Groupbuy worthwhile of my time.
Payment Information -
Following are forms of payments that will be accepted for this Groupbuy -
www.c2it.com (please add 2%)
Account Name -
[email protected]
I will also accept -
Money Order
Cashier's Check
Personal Check (I will need for the check to clear before shipping products out)
Please make checks out and send to -

Thanks all.

csingham- Does Ian even owe you any money? Because looking back I don't think he does. While I and the others who lost money can appreciate your concern, I can only speak for myself when I say that you should keep the threats to yourself or at least between you and Ian because I and hopefully others don't care to be associated with this kind of High School sh*t. We all got ourselves into this and if it matters enough to us we'll all do something about it, legally. I really don't mean anything against you I'm just tired of all these posts about it. If he owes any of you enough money that you feel you need to do something about it, then call the police dept closest to his house and file charges. Until then there isn't really alot to post about.

Maybe I should have been more clear. I don't like being associated with the threats. And unless you are a "big tobacco lawyer" who is going to get our money back you really don't have much to contribute. Somehow inviting someone to throw a brick through Ian's window doesn't seem very lawyer-like.
This is my last post about Ian or Lost Projects until I have something helpful to contribute.

I seen Ians email that Mugen-FOB left on the club si forums.
Here's what he says:
To All those that are involved-
I first have to start by saying that what you guys read are half the truth. I by all mean have messed up and screwed up pretty bad. I am not denying the fact that i would not truth myself if i were put into everyone else shoes. There's not much I can say that will matter much at this time. The only thing that I would like for everyone to know is that I did mess up, but I am trying my best to take care of all the problems. I messed up and messed up big, and it has been hard to do the right thing. I sold my project car a couple of month back in order to do the right thing and paid back a lot that's owed already. What's left, I am doing my best and fastest to take care off. I have another car that i am selling, which has been hard, because of some flames. I cannot blame anyone for flaming, it's all my own fault, if I did the right thing in the first place, all this would have not happened. I did not come into the business with the intention to scam anyone. I have personal problems, such as managing money and so fourth, which brought me to this state.
I cannot sit here and make promises, I cannot sit here and tell you guys that I am trying this and trying that. I can only tell you all that i have not disappeared. I remain at the same place where all the problems started. The only thing's changed is the business phone number I used to hae which I don't have anymore. Other then that, I have not moved, nor have i changed any of my contact information. It's taken sometime, but I am doing all that i can.
Hope this clears somethings up.
Ian

Pasco County Sheriff has " "
Penlis County DA has " "
and here is the big one guys
the FLORIDA Attorney General has NOTHING PENDING OR INVESTIGATION...
Yet i did talk the the Sheriff in Pasco county in the Fraud section and threw him all the information, i gave him all of my information, and he came up with nothing.
I'm waiting for some call backs too.
I do like how he changed his answering machine.
Tampa, and all subsidiaries of it (New Tampa, Carrollwood, ect) all are in Hillsborough (sp?) county, FL.
Also, I doubt that there is a legal issue going on with Ian, but what would be needed to prove a claim? I know that most of his deals went through well over a year ago. Do they expect us to keep records that long? What about the statute of limitations?
If something doesn't happen soon-ish, nothing is happening.

I'm fairly certain most people DO have records of what happened, even if it was over a year ago. I know I do. It's just like keeping your receipt to that ps2 you just bought.

The thing is that he didn't give receipts, that's why he's able to do all of this. That is how Rinku(can't remember his SN), explained to me. If i had an Invoice I could chase him, but all I have are emails that don't help.

Money order receipt, canceled check, paypal invoice... those should all work as receipts or at least prove that your money was taken.

Few things
1) Wesley Chapel is NOT in Hillsborough County. It is in PASCO County. Hillsborough County Sherriff's office wouldn't help much. My opinion
2) TPD (Tampa Police Department) is another choice or Pasco County Sheriff's office.
3) WHAT i told Andrew was it be easier to prove case with a receipt that has LOST PROJECTS (his company name/logo) written all over it, it be a in and out deal, compared to other forms of receipt like paypal where it will need to be verified which will take time and effort. A receipt is a must to prove that you are owed money. Whether a receipt from him, paypal, check, MO or whatever. Without the receipt i think it will be very hard to prove anything now that a lot of time has passed unless he confesses or something. Some of you may not have receipts or didn't get one, i don't know, but my point was that it is good to have if you were given one to prove your case easily.

to everyone talking about taking legal action- my advice is to do so immediatly. though it varies from state to state (and judge to judge) there is a statute of limitations on nearly all crimes and financial damages. Since most of your dispute amounts would fall under misdemeaner fraud (or interstate fraud, which is a federal charge and more severe) you need to talk to a lawyer, magistrate, or police officer asap. If you wait too long you are gonna be sol, legally speaking.
Also keep in mind, if he DOES NOT have the money to pay you back, and a court awards you monetary damages that he cannot pay, he could lessen that amount on appeal. If he still can't pay, all he has to do is not pay, they throw him in jail, and you, again, are sol.
In closing, IF YOU LOST MONEY TO THIS MAN CONTACT A LAWYER IMMEDIATLY! Do not wait for others to come forward. If you did or did not save emails, just contact someone as soon as you can, and tell them what happened, and they will tell you what you need to document.
that is my advice.

Anyone still hasn't gotten money back from Ian? I've filed a suit against him and I need all those whom he still owe money to come out. Please give me your name, address, and amount owed.
Thanks guys

Did everybody get their money back?
If you didn't....contact Kacy McClelland
[email protected]
(Postal inspector for the united states postal inspection service)
Right now Ian's on probation, give kacy your infomation so that he can give it to Ian's probation officer in an effort to get your money back.
Thanks,

Nope, I lost all contact with him and none of the #'s or email addresses I had work anymore. Sent an email to Kacy. I'd given up on getting my money back but maybe there's still hope.
Thanks

and it sucks that some websites allow Shops/Individuals with criminal and malicious backgrounds post on their sites because they havent done any damaging on their website.
I spoke up when DC tried to come up, and was shut down by mods. I have warned and asked for another user named K4RR to be removed, but he wont be.
why come over here and post this kirk? if someone reputable says 'hey, remove this shop/guy because hes shady' then just do it.
