Well I am trying to swap a dohc motor in my 1990 240 which came with a sohc motor. Does anyone know where to get custom lines or a custom bracket in SoCal so i can still run my ac? Can I run the dohc compressor and if i do will all the dohc parts work with the compressor? Or can I only run the sohc compressor with a custom line or bracket? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can cut/weld the lines or use all DOHC parts. Your choice.

If i use the dohc lines do i only need the compressor and the lines or do i need everything from the dohc a/c like condensor and evaporator?

by "dohc" parts.. he means you need the compressor, all lines, and most important the box underneath the dash, which may or may not be a bitch to change depending on your experience. (imo, it is a bitch, but that's because i'm lazy and requires quite a bit of work and time)
the reason is because even if you get all the parts, the outlets of the box underneath the dash that stick out of the firewall are different sizes between dohc and sohc, so the sohc box outlets will not bolt up with dohc line turning connectors.
that, or you can keep that box in your sohc car, and cut and reweld a set of sohc/dohc lines (dohc lines but weld on the sohc connectors) so that the connectors can be screwed onto the outlets of the sohc box.
now that i think about it, maybe you can make some kind adaptor thing. maybe try summit and buy some earls fittings and fab something up so you can get a female side that connects onto the box's outlets and male side that connects to the female side of the dohc lines.
sorry for my volcabulary with words like "box" and "screw on connectors", i just got off work and am very tired and don't want to think, but you get what i'm trying to say.

Evaporator.
Yes it is different, but removal is simple. Pull the glovebox and it slides right out.

The same would go for an SR into SOHC chassis, correct? I think I have the same case.

Yes it would...
It's easiest to just make a bracket for the SOHC compressor to the KADE/SR motor and just use all the stock SOHC lines...
I ran it like that for over a year...
