I got word from my supplier that this is happening. I also remember reading in another thread that they are introducing a new tire.
Can anyone verify this "rumor"?

They're dropping the "SS" part in front of the 595, so no more SS595. It is now just 595.
That's all there is to it.

The 595evo is coming out. It has the same traction rating and will be offerered in more sizes. I can't confirm that they will be discontinuing the SS595 but it makes sense from a business standpoint. Just Drift will be doing the launching of the new tire and we'll be testing them on August 24th at HTM.

Federal's extremely successful UHP, the former ss595, has been repositioned and renamed simply as the 595. Slight technical changes have been made by FTC to the tire to suit the purposes and take the abuse of drifting competition.
Seems like they have fine-tuned the tire so its not the exact same tire per say. I wonder what type of "changes" were made.

I think so, lol.
I hope they are still the same price (or less), and still hold up to drifting well.
I love the things.

Hmmm, tires that aren't Nissan S or Z Chassis specific, and talk of Super Sport Nazis.
Yep, this should be in Off Topic.

The SS was dropped a while ago....But I'm still waiting for them to release the 595 RS-R!!! Incredible amounts of control, and still a great bargain....

The 595 RS-R has been out in Japan for a while, but not the U.S. The U.S. version is the older 595RS (non-R). The "R" is for the extra layer of reinforcement on the sidewall. The 595RS (U.S.) and 595RS-R (Japan) look identical.....
The 595EVO is an entirely different tire.....

I was wrong.
Got corrected.
Thanks Matt.
Which is retarded of me since I have fresh ones sitting in my living room and I'm at City Tire all fucking day.
