09 Zilvia Snowboard Trip

Well I wanna finalize this as a zilvia tradition so mind as well plan early. A few years ago nemoguero and I and some other members went snowboarding and it was fun as hell. Didn't work so well last year but this year with better planning it will be great. Anyways heres the layout:

Date: Mid December before Christmas or sometime in Jan

Duration: 2-3 days/ possibly longer if more choose to stay

Price: Lift ticket ($65?) + Food ($10 or less) + Cabin ($25 or less) + Rentals (if needed $40?)

Where: Up to you guys but maybe Heavenly, Sierra, or Northstar?

Who: Anyone can join but I need a for sure yes before I can put you on the list. Beginners or Adv. skiers or boarders are welcome.


I will most likely cover the deposit and pay for the cabin and when people get there, u guys can pay me. Everyone should bring some kind of food so we dont have to go out and buy stuff. Generally costco hotdogs, burgers, buns, sauces, whatever.

This may be early but the earlier we plan this, the more people we can get. The more people that can come, the cheaper food and cabin fees will be so lets make this thing big and make it a zilvia tradition. I will update it every now and then till the season draws closer.

I always wanted to do a cabin trip but never had money, 25 bucks for a cabin? How many people are you shoving into a cabin cause thats hella cheap for a night. I wish i could go but i'll probably be in school still never heard of those mountains, only been to big bear and mt high.. i'll check back at this thread if i could go! snowboarding owns all but hella expensive..

I've never heard of those places either, but I live in between the 2 guys ^ so I'd be down to go lol. My birthday is December 17th that would be chill as a bday bash too.

Oh hell yeah!! I'm in the Bay Area Bro! I'm so down. Put me down for a YES!! I went to NorthStar and they have a variety of runs. I'm a beginner, started two years ago and I hit the intermediate runs and they are well worth it!

Heavenly isn't great for beginners. Boreal is.

What's the transportation? Too early to figure out maybe?

Make a list. Maybe that would help. Good job in starting this up (again) I would have never have thought about this.

+1 on the summer thing i rather also see snow.. I think the only way to get good at snowboarding for beginners is making them go on double diamonds.. first day as soon as me and my friend knew how to turn and stop we went to the double diamonds.. oh my gosh it was hell but then after that we got use to it then next thing you know it we're pretty dam good we dont fall as much well he does but not me.! AHHH snowboarding i cant wait you guys have your set ups? i have a rome solution,dc judges,rome arsenals, and dakine gear..
