I am watching the news and some 15 year old kid shot his sister because "she was tying up the phone". Two days ago some 12 year old kid shot his mom because they got into an argument. How much do you have to fail as a parent for your kid to shoot you or your family when he doesnt get what he wants? In all seriousness, I see kids scream and cry in public and get whatever they want, maybe if kids learn that they cant get what they want all the time, this shit wouldnt happen. Shits going down hill really fast when kids are killing their family members to get their way.

there definitely is a difference between beating and "hitting" in punishment. but there is a very severe lack of discipline these days. there are a lot of parents that dont like that method and many that are scared of people thinking they are child abusers. i know i got hit when i was a kid when i did something extremely stupid and i didnt turn out half bad. but it was also mixed in with talk and reason. and that's what missing. parents talk and then do nothing, or they just hit and say nothing. doesnt really work that way. sucks that its like that now, but you really cant just go around hitting people's kids. or can you?

the one thing that i remember, is that when the ice cream truck would come down the street, she would hear it, and want some, we say no, bam instant trantrum and screaming...
