So since Im going back to college in less than a month and I'll be broke for the next year or two while I finish up, I got all sad that I wouldn't get to see my dream car start taking shape. So I started to model it out in 3D, the front is almost done, just needs headlights, then I'll continue on. Please leave comments on the style, Im going as wide as I can on the stance.

Damn dude that looks sick!!! I could do with a little less width on the flares but it looks great nonetheless! I like the splitter! Are these wheels temporary while you model up some different ones? Some hella concave te37's would be teh sex!!!

As always, everything is made using poly modelling methods in 3D Studio Max, currently using 2008. Thanks for the comments guys. And flip, it clears, hold on I'll shoot out a render that has the wheel turned, I already checked for that lol. Im wanting to run 18x11's with -1.5 camber in the front and 18x14 with -2 camber in the back.
Here you go Flip, full-locks in both directions no rubbing, might smoke a little if you pushed it hard and it was under compression.

I wish I knew how to do stuff like that.
Or is it pretty easy to make?

Steps to making pretty things in 3D:
Get a 3D Program
Spend 4 years working with it
Get really good
Profit
not easy.

Model looks great! I was doing a lot of modeling when 3DSmax was "new" and I was in highschool... 2d stuff in AutoCAD, 3d in 3dsmax - I modeled stuff for my MK3 Jetta (which was cool, at the time...). I would love to carry the bumper out wider than the fenders for a "DTM Widebody" look, but the way you've got it looks pretty good too.
Keep it up, can't wait to see more!

Not crack just weed dude! And I know what kind of rims those are. I had some before in an ok size.
There was no need to get upset I was just stating the fact that te's would look WAAAAY better than those. Meister's are overrated anyways.
And flip, it clears, hold on I'll shoot out a render that has the wheel turned, I already checked for that lol. Im wanting to run 18x11's with -1.5 camber in the front and 18x14 with -2 camber in the back.
Do you even know what offsets you will need? Knowing the wheel diameter and width and what camber you will be running is cool and everything, but what good will it do you if you don't know how much mad negative offset you are gonna need on your model car.
Good luck with your 3D car build.
Here are my old rims with offsets to help you out with your "build".

Hey that is a really nice 3d image that you got going on there. I really like the way it looks just a little too wide with the fenders imho but hey to each his own. It really reminds me of a supra I saw pix of awhile back. Just the fender design itself not the whole kit. This supra is not mine nor do I know who owns it, for that matter I have no idea whether it was even ever finished so please dont ask me. Maybe you can get some ideas from these pix.

taking into account the thickness of the rim itself, to flush with the fender, I need -33mm front and -45mm back, and since 18x11's and 18x14's only come in up to -7 offsets, that means lots of spacing!
And TE37's dont come in the sizes I need, at least not that Ive found, Work seems to be the only one making rims in those sizes, anyone feel free to correct me on that.

Actually you can get almost any offset you want directly from work! They don't show it on any of their size sheets but they do make them. Look at my old rears...they were 18x13 -34!!!
I know that volk will make the wheels according to your specs also.
Either way, car is badass! I would love to have that front on my s13!

Wheels won't turn, you're modeling them on the wrong axis, they'll plow into everything more than like 10 degrees.
looks like the Griggs Racing Mustang front end. Honestly the Griggs stuff looks better.

the wheels turn fine, they don't hit anything at all, and under load they camber into the arches instead of hitting it, I fail to see the problem?
And I googled griggs and I didnt find anything that looked even remotely like this, care to provide a link please? It's an actual front bumper with a canard, its MSports, or Version Select Type II, same thing, Im not just pulling this stuff outta my ass.

i don't think mcrussell was trying to be insulting, just practical
have you ever had experience fitting wheels this wide with this offset?
or perhaps know someone who does, or at least some examples of people who do?
it's not easy, but if you can do it and it works out in real life, go for it.
definitely cool designing it
I'm not really into the fender flares though
IMO it just doesn't go with the body

I would say those flares are for hard parking only. This is just from what I know about the 240 suspension but IMO I would make them less dramatic and make the flare meet the body at the same angle that the suspension cambers in the wheel upon compression. I know people that fit 10" rims on pulled fenders, to me there's no reason to make such a dramatic flare but this is all just my opinion

Looks pretty decent there man. From a modeling perspective, the only thing I'd say for now is to add in the seams between the front bumper/front fender separations and for the doors and such. Can you post up a pic with the wire mesh turned on?

i like the RSR rear fender flare better because it goes up higher on the body. the one on your model looks a bit low.
otherwise, all cool shit. to each his own mang.

Yah Im not diggin on that rear flare at all, I'll have to come up with something a little more... um, less.... pasted on? looks aweful. Got an idea for the front though.
The whole idea for this car isnt "will 10"wheels fit" its "how wide can I go". I'm getting an S13 hatch soon to screw around with, but this one is my life project. The width of the body and wide wheels are just backup for the 1,000hp LS2 V8 going under the hood.
Anyways, yah this isnt really the look I was going for, so Im going to step back, work it over a bit more, and see if I can make it more agressive and less "look I pasted fender flares on so I wouldnt look like a ghetto mexican owned maxima"

they looked good on the front but when you see it on the whole car it just doesn't fit
it looked good when just seeing the front end but when you added the rest of the car the front looked overdone? almost too agressive compared to the rest of the car.
I think it's best if you ditch the fender flares and go wide fenders in the front and overfenders in the rear. that way you can keep the overall design of the car the same just allow more clearance for wider wheels.
give it a try ;)
