I feel the whiteline endlinks arent very good. I'd like to see other people's thoughts. i tested on the front at the track w/ both whiteline front endlinks and another day, Stock sway bar endlinks on the whiteline sways. here's what i found, i'd like to see people's thoughts and opinions as well if someone can test it themselves to make sure i'm not nuts i'd appreciate it.

my current suspension:
whiteline sway bars front adn rear (adjustable ones)
tein TC rods
Tein HE coilovers (8kg/6kg)
dupree subframe spacers
camber:
front: -3 Bridgestone RE730 205/55/15
rear: -1.5 Dunlop FM901 205/55/15

this is with WHTELINE endlinks on whiteline sways (i made them URL rather then pic, they are the full size image). i also had the damper on the HEs at FULL STIFFNESS:

EDIT YOU HAVE TO ADD HTTP://WWW. before each of them manually. that was the only way i could get the full weblink becaues cut and paste and weblink didnt work (kept shortening it).

imagestation.com/picture/sraid41/pb394f081ceab532f2a28bf5024428554/fcf4c20c.jpg.orig.jpg

you'll want to cut and paste it...due to size

now i know there are some factors: speed and turning angle. so i know posting this doesnt help a lot due to: in one turn i might have been going 30mph in another 10mph..etc. and how hard i turned. but the roll is PRETTY big for 8/6 imho. maybe i just prefer higher spring rates?! i hate body roll. daily comfort is not a serious issue to me. i dont drive all that much everyday.

now with STOCK endlinks for fronts on whiteline sways:

sorry not much after change, my friends rode with me or driftheaven during the day so no one on sidelines taking pics for use. all inside the car shots/vids.

now for my impressions.
wow. huge difference. same track now as well. the car in general handled FAR better imho. my friend who rode with me said it felt bettter as well. there's a few turns on the track (its streets of willow) that before the body roll was UNBEARABLE and i had to decrease my speed by quite a lot ('the bowl' part of track). with the stock endlinks on it, the roll was greatly reduced and i was able to keep up with cars in front and not slow down cars behind because i was able to come into and thru the corner far faster (and more comfortably) then before.

overall, i plan on getting stock front endlinks for the rear sways as well. or getting z32 aftermarket ones (much nicer then stock) and possibly using those on front AND rear.

i dont know many people who tried this but when i first got the sways i was very unimpressed with them. when Toso saw them when i had my wheel off he wouldnt stop laughing..bastard! haha..

anyways, any thoughts?

oh the settings i use are full stiffness on both front and rear.

using the stock front endlinks i put full stiffness in front and got new bushings (rubber) for them from pepboys. hard rubber, feels good. going to try and find poly ones though instead i think. i belive they are firmer..can someone verify that?

REQUESET: if someone else has their stock sways try it out too, maybe its just me psychologically thinking its better...need a second opinion here. someone who does track/auto-x is good. daily driving u cant tell the difference unless you have some nice '25' mph onramps that are "u turn"ish that might work. just test it with both whiteline endlinks AND stock ones.

I'd heard this same complaint from others at freshalloy. But then others love them...

I'd like to see a side by side photo comparison of the endlinks themselves.

I have a bud in the bay area that had the same issue you did dousan. He replaced his endlinks with stock ones with aftermarket urethane bushs . He says it work real well and made a big difference.

I've heard complaints on FA as well. Seems what they decided is the end links work fine as long as you have it setup so they are vertical. I now have my front set on medium on the bar and in whatever hole on the L shaped piece made it vertical rather than going up from the control arm to the bar at an angle. After a couple track days, I have no complaints but maybe I'll put my stock front end links on just to test it some time.

Just an FYI, I don't think Don over at PDM even uses the whiteline front endlinks. From pics I've seen it looks like he made himself custom ones :o

I have the same setup. I wasn't thrilled about the endlinks. The design is very clever and probably inexpensive to manufacture, but there is too much polyurethane built into them. I am going to put togerther some heim joints for next season. They can be put together and adjusted very easily.

There's a pic of the one I found on PDM's website.
Looks to be the same exact design, minus all the polyurethane.

bbp, what are heim joints?

that end link can be called a heim joint. a sphreical bearing on each end with a threaded shaft. Don is using one in that pic.

You turn the shaft to make the link longer or shorter. so when the car is on the ground you can take the preload out of the swaybar.

Heim Joint

(I just happened to find that photo off mazdatrix, but they look like they would work for our application as well.)

If they are being used ona treet car that sees wet weather or alot of dirt, you may want to explore the more expensive teflon impregnated ones. Some people do not like them because they can develop slop over time, but the do not require as much maint as standard steel ones do. Make sure you adjust your sways on level ground to zero out the preload, before corner weighting and stchuff.

cool thanks. me mostly wet weather. i'm at the track or driving the freeway in so cali here....soo..
thanks for the tip on the preload business. i am gtting corner balanced this year sometime (marchish?)

i'll check them both out! appreciate it!

where can i find the Heim Joints and how much do they cost? im picking up my whitelines tomorrow, do you recommend just using the stock endlinks? and one more thing, you can only zero out the preload when useing the Heim Joints? if you can explain a little more, thanks. sorry for the n00b question :D

There really isn't anything "wrong" with the Whiteline links, if your mainly using the car on the street with occasional track stuff, they will be fine. Those who do regular track events or dedicated race cars, may consider changing them.

The whitline front links are not adjustable. The rear links can be adjusted a little my adjusting the link that connects to the control arm.

You basically want your sway bars to be neutral when the car is sitting flat on the ground. Think of sway bars as big ass springs (they truly are torsion springs). You do not want them to be adding weight to either side of the car at static position. This could affect your corner weights if one side is adding/ reducing pressure to the other. This should be done while the car is on the ground.

what would you use to mount the heim joint to the control arm??

Where do you find the aftermarket Z32 endlinks (heim joints) that fit our sway bars? How much do these cost? Is it worth it to get a set of those over the stock sway bar endlinks?

Right now I am running on the Whiteline Endlinks and I REALLY want to switch back to the stock endlinks (too bad I tossed them out with the original bars, DOH). Does anybody know the part number for the endlinks so I can order them up from Courtesy?

You can use the bracket that Whiteline supplies with their bars, as seen in the photo. it's pretty much a piece of angle with a stud welded to one side and a couple of holes punched in the other.
