I was looking for window visors for my s13 hatch and I was wondering if there any differences besides fitment between say Nissan, Origin, or Pepboys. Is there any one brand that can allow a person to open the window more than the other? I have a base model s13, so no a/c in car. Any other brands are welcome as well. Any help will be appreciated.

Get Nissan.
WestCo Justin should be able to hook it up.

I got mine a while ago and just recently put 'em on. It looks hot.

Too bad just the other day getting into my car, I kinda cracked the driverside one slightly. Yeah I was tired and kinda lost balance. =x

Fell on a pressure point on where it was put on.

Yea, the window visors are probably on back order. They sell like hotcakes. Or just get the pep boys and let us know how they turn out.

Whats the RRP on these in the US? I can't find them in the UK so maybe importing is best.

How solidly are the OEM ones mounted? I thought about getting some of these to try to reduce some wind noise on the track(must have both windows all the way down). Plus it'd be nice to cut down on some drag...

it seems like your window would have to be rolled down a little when you shut the door or else the window would hit the visor thing, but i dont know

Yeah def get OEM

I wouldn't get window visors unless I smoked in my car (which I do not) or live in an excessively rainy area

It would definitely be a last option mod, in the sense that you better have got your suspension laced up before getting window vizorzors

What are window visors? are they the smoked pieces of plastics that go over the top of the window frame?

Well thanks for everyone's input, but I was more concerned if one brand would allow a window to be rolled down more than another brand.

A Spec Products I have already replaced as much suspension parts as I can afford. The visor mod would help me a lot, rainy days in Chicago this time of year are super humid. Driving twenty minutes in this weather and your windows fog up to the point of absolutely zero visibility.

i got them visors too. the mounting clips suck. they fall off easily after the little nipples that are supposed to stick em together fall apart. they dont mount as well as they should but w/e. the doubleside tape holds em on fine.
and to hitman: yes, u can close ur doors fine with the visors. it wont touch.

Origin and OEM are the only ones made, AutoVentShade and EGR do not make them, neither do any of the other aftermarket suppliers.

Most of the road noise from your windows being down is the b pillar. The only time I notice a difference is when I just crack the windows open a bit, it def lowered the noise then. One of the coolest things you can add to your car for when its raining and the windows fog up, MA has afternoon/evening thundershowers 4 days a week this summer

So, click on the link posted for the OEM ones, and go to Origin's site to look at those. That's it.

Here, I'll make it even easier.

So do these keep the wind out of the car at say 100+ mph with both windows down?

Are they liable to fly off if you hit 140+ mph with them?

joefresh
10-25-2008, 08:56 PM
are you serious?
they are made so you can crack your window and smoke in the rain without it coming in the window. aka they only keep water out when the window is like 2in down maximum. they are held on by tape and some metal clips. 140mph is fast but mine are still there after driving alot so im guessing they will not fall off.

must be alot of empty roads in texas if you have time to get up to 140 in an s13 they are made strictly for style and smoking in bad weather. even if your not smoking cigs (hehe) eddie is still sitting on one of my sets

(just to see what it could do) I hit 120 in my stock s13 on a highway on ramp in 4th gear... It wouldn't be that hard to get to 140.

And no these will not fall off at high speeds even if they are only held on with double sided tape.

Jeez I'm not some idiot doing 140 mph on public roads with my windows down... I do that with them up to cut down on drag. :Owned:

Seriously, I'm asking about the visors for keeping wind buffetting down on track where you have to run with both your windows all the way down. I'm wondering if it kicks the airflow around the windows out enough where it doesn't come back into the car by the B-pillar. 140 mph isn't hard to do at a track where you enter a 3/4 mile straight at 70-80 mph when you're making about 280-300 rwhp.
