I have searched and read the FSM. I dont see any crosshairs for pinpointing your timing. I can move around different angles and obviously the needle and the timing mark move around directly in relation to my POV.

Do you stand DIRECTLY in front and look straight down? or is it the middle crank bolt on the center of the pully and the needle? Ive been looking for pictures of someone timing their engine with a light and cant see their angle of attack.

I always lined up the peg with the center of the crank.

never had any problem

oh snap, im running at *12 then. Looking straight down it seems like *20, but if I line it up with the bolt and the peg, its *12.

This explains so much about the issues im having.
