Has anyone on here ever had there wheels widened?

I like the wheels my coupe has but they are just too narrow and witht he new motor that it is getting there is no way will a 205 put ANY power to the ground. These wheels are from what i have gathered 15X7 Epsilon Mesh wheels TRUE 2/3 peice wheel. I plan on rolling and maybe pulling the rear fenders to run the 255 that i WANT to run on the back of the S13 Coupe.

So who should i get in contact with to get the wheels widened?

Thanks Zilvia! :bigok:

I've seen it done on steelies before but never a wheel like that. If it is a multiple piece wheel then you may be able to go to a custom wheel shop and see if they can make the rim piece wider.

Better off buying a new set of wider wheels...Personally, I just dont trust a barrel to be cut in half and widened, too many shit that could go wrong. If you can find a wider barrel and just swap it, that would be alot better...

I have seen alot of VW guys run widened steelies and i FIGURED it would be easy to just take out the barrel and put in a wider one.

I threw that idea around a little, but idk if i want to find another set of wheels, i really like the ones on them and i don't have the funds for CCW Classic's right now.

^^^You do know something like this wont exactly be cheap right? For the amount your gonna spend shipping it and having it modded, you could just buy another set of wheels. Thats the reason why its usually better to get another set of wheels thats already wide.

yeah i know. to get the rears widened i'm geussing it's gonna be around 600-900ish. Which is alot of money. but to get wheels i like with tires i'm looking at atleast 2000. but who knows that might be a smarter bet

I talked to rb motoring about this when I bought my wheels off them, they told me it would be about $300 a wheel to turn my 8's into 10's. By the way my wheels are 3pc wheels. That should give you a idea on how much it's going to cost.

Kodiak wheels sells custom barrels built to your spec.

I don't know why but a lot of companies sell multipiece wheels but weld them when they are all bolted up. If you are serious about doing this, peel off a small section of the silicone on your wheels and take a look to see if it's welded. I know wheels like SSR Agle Minervas are welded. I think SSR welds their Professors as well nowadays. I think Work might weld their VS series wheels but I'm not 100% sure. I know for a fact that Work Equips and Veilside Andrew V are not welded and can be completely disassembled.

For wheels like yours, it's just not worth it in my opinion. I would only do it to old school panasports or SSR's. You can go buy yourself better wheels for the price it will cost to widen yours.

EDIT: I just realized that the faces on the old school wheels like yours just pop off when you unbolt them. Even if the barrels are welded, you can stll bolt your faces on to some custom barrels. But then we're back to square one where your better off finding yourself some better sized wheels.

Thanks Alot guys for all the thoughts and suggestions. I really like the mesh look and these wheels seem really hard to find so i would like to run them. But i'm gonna make some calls monday morning to see what kind of prices it will be to widen them. And if it sounds like to much i might just get some wider rear wheels when i wanna run a sticky tire.

Flip the face inside out. It won't help you any, but they'll look deep. :)

You would have to find someone who can order you the barrels for those rims. Prob easier getting bigger/wider rims.

countach and panteras ran sizes like that... I think pirrelli makes a batch like once every 3 or 4 months.. they're like 400 a tire or so.. drag slicks and hoosier dot autox slicks not counting..
