So I installed my Hallman Pro manual boost controller on my S13. Now Im pushin just shy of one bar of boost, I figure 13-14 psi. Ive got an sr20, stock turbo, intake, 3in turbo-back exhuast w/ a 4in output, walbro fuel pump, upgraded injectors, and Im still rocking the stock side-mount intercooler. Im going to take it to drift office on Tuesday and let them dyno and tune it for me. First, anyone see anything wrong or dangerous about my setup? And second, anyone care to make a guess to how many horsey's Ill see, kudos and a gold star to the person thats the closest. Thanks guys, take care.

Probably close to 250hp but what do i know.:loco: What are you using to tune with?

I'd say about 220 hp or so.

^^^^^ for real man you are running shy of one bar you need to front mount that man it will save your set up good luck with the tune tho =]

eh, i was rockin the stock t25 on my redtop at 11 psi at 232 hp. so i'm guessing at 13/14 psi it would be around 250. all i had was apexi filter and 3 inch exhaust with stock turbo outlet.

get a fmic for sure. stock smic = fail. Those things get heat soaked so quick its not even funny. A fmic on ebay is dirt cheap and a huge upgrade from stock

yea like everyone says, sidemount FTL.
what are u using to tune with, and what size injectors?

Yeah when I had my Side mount with the Type -R BOV It was getting heat soaked so bad it would blow moisture out the BOV.
Your Waisting your Money Dyno Tuning on the Side Mount

Chris tunes cars for Position1 Racecraft and others like UnNatural. i would recommend him for a tune and no one else. you will see consistent horsies with him.

How is it tuned for the larger injectors?
SMIC is going to heatsoak.

I can't believe that you are tuning on a side mount. I was running a side mount in the middle of summer in phoenix and let me tell you that A SIDE MOUNT IS ONLY GOOD FOR ABOUT 10 MIN. Even in the WA coastal area the temp that you are going to be generating with you running that much boost on a t25 is retarded. a T25 is not good for more than 13-14 psi and even that is pushing it. Don't waste your money tuning at this point. You need to go to a FMIC before you turn up the boost that much. I gained a 1.5 psi just going to a greddy fmic and the drop in intake temps can't be matched. The side mount that your running, you are seeing at least a 2-3 psi drop at the pressuer that you are running. Don't get too ambitious with the boost, make sure that you are set up to make the most of your set up. My car is not that much ahead of yours so I'm just trying to give you a few pointers so that you can keep your car healthy.

what if you had an ARC sidemount would that still be no good??

sure an arc side mount would be better than stock, but an arc side mount is not better any betterthan an ebay front mount. Almost any fmic will be at least 50% bigger and have at least 50% better cooling than a side mount. The size and location of a side mount will never be as good as a front mount IC.
If you have upgraded the injectors (at least 550cc), fuel pump, and fpr, then the weak link in your set up is going to be an fmic and the turbo. I don't know what kind of power that you are trying to make but you still need to do some work if you want to get above 250 whp.

im surprised that no one has mentioned the effiency of a t25 at 14psi...

little turbo + high boost = little turbo spinning vewy vewy fast
fast spinning turbo = high heat, low efficiency, premature wear
furthermore, high heat leads to preignition which leads to KABLAAAAM
so at very least upgrade ur intercooler to lower intake temps

Yeah what are you tuning with? SAFC?

ARC sidemounts are pretty decent. i had a buddy pulling 283 on his ka-t with this setup. the main thing is AIRFLOW. it wont make a sidemount that much better. but it will help reduce heatsoak.
more surface area= more cooling.
i would just get the front mount you want as much cooling as possible.

pretty much, i'd say forget the front mount at this point because a t-25 isn't going to last very long at that high of boost. at least 2 of mine didn't.

Shouldn't front mount be one of the first things you get when you swap motors? If you want to boost that high might as well upgrade to t28 so its somewhat safer because that t25 will blow if you keep running at that psi. I say around 230 horsies maybe if it can even last that long.

Most Boost i'd run on that T25 would be 10-11.
