i would definitely recommend this for someone who hasnt been to an event. balcony is a good place to learn and it can also get as techincal as you make it. i will most likely have instructors there so if anyone needs help, its there. let me know if you need anything else :)

And like david mentioned, this event/balcony is great for beginners because there isn't anything big to hit like light poles or whatever... we will most likely have some cones setup for the course so if you eat one it doesn't do much damage.

haha serious, soon there will probably be an event every single weekend for socal. since this track event is aimed at beginners to intermediate, we will use cones instead of bails and most likely do a skidpad setup to warm up, then utilize the rest of balcony.

I'm one of the guys from 626, and a lot of noobs don't have a right set up to take full advantage of this great course. and go all out...its seriously very hard to mess anything up...only if your stupid, or trying to be gangsta! have fun! good luck drift collaboration!!!!!

Thanks for the tip man! I have a stock KA and 17"s were really hard for me to spin so I sold them and got some 16"s. With 45-50 psi in the rear tires, I had a blast tearing up the 16" tires :bigok:
Then I tried lowering the pressure to around 40 because I felt/was advised that I needed a little bit more grip in the rear cuz I kept spinning on the first transition. Worked out pretty well :coold:

if you're spinning when you're transitioning try loosening up your rear shocks a bit also

that might be a bigger issue than your tire pressure

messing with those knobs on your coilovers is going to be more beneficial than playing with your tire pressure

if you got the KA just bump that psi up and call it a day

If i recall correctly, my rear coilovers were on full soft. Is that what you meant by loosening up the rear shocks?

you should be able to tear around any course on a bad alignment if you focus enough on yourself and don't blame the car

I would say to check how much tread you have left on the front tires. use them again if they have a good amount left on them.If not just burn them up in the rear.

omgg sooo tired.... david and i both got like less than 2 hours of sleep the night before this event but it was all worth it!

thanks guys for the compliments for the event and i'm glad everybody had a great time!

i'm loading up my pictures right now... but i stopped taking pictures early so not much to expect.

i did take a lot of video with the nice digital video camera so we'll see when that gets edited..
