Anyone here go rock climbing? I usually go with a group of friends at least once a week to Rock City in Anaheim Hills. It's always more fun with more people...unless you're better than us. Then you can't come.

Gonna be there tonight. Anyone interested?

My Buddy Jim was a world class climber, the rb20det swap car..
He was invited to China to climb then a horrible thing happened , he tripped fell and hyper extended his elbow. He is now no longer a climber. I never seen him Climb like for real, but his body is FUCKING RIPPED! or was, his back was like sucked in from his muscles being so tight, really odd.

but yea climbing rocks rocks.

Yup. Gym or outside?

I bum around the San Gabriel Mountains a few times a week. As far as rock climbing, it's nearly all low to mid grade trad (maybe 5.9) in secret spots here and there.

Too bad we've got so many damn twisty awesome roads in the way...:2f2f:

which side of the SG mountains are you trad climbing? South side? I have never done any trad as i dont have the gear, i mostly just do indoor and sport with friends that have the ropes and quickdraws, all i have is my shoes, harness, and chalk bag. hopefully i will get some quickdraws and a rope.

Mostly up near Mt Baldy Village. I put up a few new routes in Icehouse Canyon this spring-fall.

Here's one: SummitPost - Big Meat Pizza 5.8 R/X -- Climbing, Hiking & Mountaineering (http://www.summitpost.org/route/431119/Big-Meat-Pizza-5-8-R-X.html)

Got a few more on there under my profile. I mostly do alpine rock/ice/snow. Trad here is excellent training, as most of our rock tends to blow (pun intended), so it teaches you to become more resilient, mentally-flexible, and forces you to become creative with anchors.

Haha, I'm glad some people finally replied to my thread. I've only been doing indoor bouldering since I started but definitely interested in outdoor stuff later on. Awesome site and pics, Taco.

Anyway, I go to Rock City in Anaheim (http://www.rockcityclimbing.com/) pretty much every Wednesday night from ~7:30 till closing (~10). Which means I'll be there tonight! But I never drive my car. Look for a tall skinny Asian guy.

Cool beans dude. Good to train in a gym and get out and apply those skills in the mountains.

Did this the other day... can't do it in a gym ;-)
