sorry, im a newb to these forums and was not sure where to post this. since people that are here usually know what they are looking for in a car, i figured this would be a good spot. anyway, there is a guy who is selling a 1995 240sx and was wondering if anyone could give me some wisdom haha.

the car has:
*clean title
*175,000 miles on motor and chassis
*aem short ram intake
*greddy cat back exhaust
*quick release and hub
*5zigen rims
*Kenwood DDX7015 touch screen

he wants to sell me the car for $4800 cash but i donno if that is actually reasonable.

Thread moved.

We need pics. It's very hard to tell you it its worth that much without seeing it.

But with that many miles and the fact it's been molested a little, I'd say it's high.

Also, is it a 5 speed? LSD? SE? Etc...

if its base not really. tell him keep wheels and lower price to 4200 then it'll be worth it if its an SE and in good condition. 175 is a lot.

you know that tactic people use to sell cars?

the one where they price it a little higher so in case someone decides to haggle, they still get what they want, and if someone comes along with a mindset like "HURRRRR! DRIFT KINGZ! HERES $5000! I KNOW IT'S MORE BUT YOU TOTALLY DESERVE IT!" then they still win.

whats it called again?

Is it an SE model? Is there any rust on the body or chassi. Decide If you want to do an engine swap or keep it KA. Is it stick shift? How is the body itself. See if there any problems with tthe engine, if there any oil leeks. If there is alot of smoke coming out of it. Dont be fooled by an exhaust and sme fancy cd player, b smart. Offer him 4K cash. I got my 1st s14 with almost thesame features for 3800. Good Luck!!!

i guess it sucks being in cali, but here, $4800 buys you an s13 with an SR in it.

I got my 95 for $2,500, but it was a base. 4,800 seems a little high for something thats not KA-T/SR, or without suspension

that's expensive as hell.

first 175,000 miles. that's alot of freaking miles.
second, the mods are fairly worthless.
third, the mods mean its probably been beat on.

if you're going to buy a near stock 240sx, just get a stock one. less chance its been abused.

this is worthless without pictures.

i dont think so. i would say with 99.9999% certainty that it's way overpriced without seeing any pictures. i paid 3600 for my completely stock auto s14 2 years ago and it had 180k miles. the inside and outside were clean as hell though and the motor ran strong. 209k now and it's still running well even with me beating on it at autocrosses. it was completely stock though and owned by adults so it was most likely not ragged out before i got it

ive seen some r32's and stuff, but i havent
seen an s15. maybe cause it cost so much to ship
from japan. but if someone had an s15 in cali,
he'd stand out from all of us
