Hi guys.

Freshlly built SR20DET, CP's, Eagle, ACL Calico Main & Rod bearings.
Main bearing Clearances - 0.0020"-0.0022" .
Rod bearing Clearances - 0.0022"-0.0025".

Setrab 25 Row oil cooler, with Greddy Thermostat Filter relocation plate & Greddy oil pan.

The climate is pretty worm most of the year and i drive the car about 3 times a week.

I had the car ran in and did an extra 1000km (total 2000km since the build), on MolyLiqui 15w-40 Mineral oil.

Now i have changed to VALVOLINE VR1 Racing - 5w-50.
Since of the higher clerances, i think that the thicker oil will hold higher pressure - but what iam worried about is the COLD viscosity (5W), if its not to low for my spec.
My thinking was that a low cold value, will benefith in higher flow at start up, and will get oil quicker to the valve train ?
Am i right ???

My pressure at idle with the Autometer pressure gauge is about 18-20PSI at idle, after warm up, and about 80PSI on full throttle, after fully warmed up.
When i first start the engine in the morning, the pressure jumps up to about 85-90 and slowly drops, as it worms up.

What do you guys think about my chooise of oil, and about the pressure i see ?

Thanks,
Dany.

As i said, i belive that grade 30, is too thin for my clerances - but what iam realy curious about, is the Cold Grade (5W).

Thank.
