Over on a moparforum, some guy had a '72 roadrunner, and someone stole his hood, fenders, doors, engine, transmission, wheels, and driveshaft to sell as scrap.

Then we get these geniuses.

The little hispanic scrap metal douches jacked a dis-assembled engine that we needed as a core the other day! They didn't even ask or anything. I went out back and it was missing. I hate the scrap metal guys! One of them had the balls to ask me if my evo wheels were scrap! I need those things for temporary use with my 5-lug conversion and they aren't even damaged at all!

Where can I find 16K$ worth of wire?

Yeah. When I replaced an air conditioning unit at my house I left the old G.E. unit outside in my truck's bed. The next day the unit was al banged-up. It looked like it was attacked by a can opener. The morrons wanted the copper in the motor, but they failed to take it. I thaught about it and I tore the unit apart and took the metals to a recycling center. I was paid about $80 bucks just for the copper.
I think these metal thieves don't care what the metal is used for, all they see is easy money. The recycling centers have to play their part in reporting these a**holes.

Some dudes around here spent a night stealing manhole covers...

While police were arresting Valera, a second man, Joseph Moniz, 39, came peddling a manhole cover to the recycling center. Officers promptly arrested him.

The police need to stake out that recycling plant to see if they're receiving any stolen goods. That's too much of a coincidence.

Yeah, some duche-bag stole the catalitic of my hardbody pick-up when I left it at a relatives house. I parked the truck on the side of the house, I won't do that again. It was sawed-of somehow!?

These people are like a squirrel looking for a nut.

My 240 is low, so I think my catalityc is safe there. But if they ever try to jack it all they're going to find is a cheap Magan test-pipe. Haha!:fawk2:

I have welded the nuts on many Toyota's and Honda's so this wont happen. Weld them nuts together.

When I was in the Inland Empire area last time, Some guy decided to try to steal the copper out of a windmill and got fucken cooked from the energy that stuff makes. I have seen arms and legs blown off because these people try to steal wire that is hot.LOL

Yea, you can get good money for metal these days

Sinking economy, and soaring metal prices make it a logical thing to do.

I work for an HVAC shop, line sets getting stolen from houses is getting more and more common.

A kid at my school collected aluminum scraps and stole fairly large portions of aluminum from the metal shop.

He made out with like 700 bucks in a 2 months.

I did a oil change and I used an old ruined metal pot from like 1980s to hold the oil since my friend had my cannister. I put it outside until I could transport it to autozone / kragen to get rid of it. I come out a few hours later and the oils all over the ground going into the sewers and the pots gone.

scrap metalers piss me off.
after that we put up a big exhaust pipe near my pad. Watched it across the street, waited for a truck of mexican guys to roll up and grab it. we blocked them off and they got beat down.

took all their metal in the truck and my friend told him in spanish if they come back again they will never see daylight.

I know its sad, but when you live in Los angeles you have to lay down for your hood or people are gonna jack mad stuff.
