yea.. im lookin at flywheels for the ka too..

there's jun, fidanza, another company assco or something like that, and unorthadox.

unorthadox seems kind of high. almost $600.. i was goin to go with fidanza, but im leaning toward the jun lightweight flywheel now..

anyone know any reputable online shops or places to get flywheels and other 240 parts?

JUN Flywheels are a waste of money IMO, they can only be resurfaced 1 time before you need a new one. On top of that they are only about 5lbs lighter then stock IIRC.

The Fidanza is a quality Flywheel for the price, I have owned two, one in my N/A 91 and the other in my 96 KA-T. If you ever need it resurfaced you can get a replacement bearing plate for the flywheel. On top of this the Fidanza is the exact design of others like UR, Clutchmasters and a few other Flywheels.

As for the effect and benefits of Flywheels its hard to say. I would compare it to an Underdrive Pulley as it makes your car a little more Rev happy and more exciting to drive. Now it could just be me, but on my KA-T with Coils and lots of suspension goodies I could have sworn the car handled better. It could have been a result of more freed up power actually getting to the rear wheels. I think a Flywheel is a worthwhile mod only when replacing your clutch. Overall feel of the clutch stayed about the same, I know there is alot of controversy about if it actually makes the car harder to drive, let me tell you that it made no difference.

Only downside I saw from this, that was more noticable with my KA-T was that the RPMs dropped quicker when shifting which resulted in more turbo lag. Other then that, if your like me and like to downshift to slow down the Flywheel will make it harder to slow down since there is less weight to help.

I researched alot of flywheels for my Z32 and went with Fidanza. It appears to be completly rebuildable. Not sure where you get the parts though. Also RPS is prety reputable but I don't know if they carry 240sx flywheels. I wasn't very happy with the JUN or the JWT.

jun's flywheels aren't really good? but other jun parts should be high quality right? is it just the jun ka flywheel or the sr one too?

It's not that the company or the actual product isn't good. I think it's more like West said, it can only be resurfaced once before you need to replace it. It isn't a lighter material but more of a thinner flywheel. My decision not to go with JUN was because I'd heard that it developes "hard spots" due to uneven heating or something like that. These "hard spots" may not be resurfacable.

thanks for the information guys.. i think this thread will help a lot of people planning to replace their clutches.. like myself.. the fidanza must be light and solid and resurfacable at least a couple times before its worn down.. what do you guys think about the toda or jun flywheel for the sr? yes.. im planning on replacing those parts too when i get my sr..
