As the great Jon Wayne once said, if you can't afford a 240, you should catch the bus.

Japan isnt all that great being in the military (as a civilian hells yes).....R34s are still expensive there... And even more expensive to get registered in your name. Don't plan on bringing it back either...

im not really worried about it .. i got money ready and saved.. i can infact bring it back.. 1 of 2 ways : 1 bring it back as race only veh, egh whats the fun in that.. or 2 pay the gawd awful fees that come along with bringing it to the us an im not talking threw motrex cuz they are a money landering gigantic pyramind schyme.. i found plenty of other companies that are willing to do it... i have been researching and doin my homework for a while.. my wife wants to get it and bring it back too.. so that i will try my best

You should research a little more, as it isnt as easy as you think. Talk to the people that have had their REGISTERED US CARS taken, or the ppl that have cars from Japan still sitting at the docks...and it has been over a year. After just being over there for 4 years myself, I have a little more knowledge on the subject than you.

and if all else fails ill just sell it an bring back an r33. . which are much easier so i hear

I dont have the link to the write up, but a guy in TX had homeland security come to his house, and take his registered skyline...just don't be heartbroken when they say no....or you pay $15K on top of shipping fees and the cars purchase, only to have it seized in port.

Your tax dollars hard at work. That's just a flat out burn. The sadder part is, there is absolutely nothing he can do.

Try and buy a rolling shell and rebuild it. It'll probably be cheaper.

:werd: Okinawa is the worst especially now (For Military)
Main land is better since they have actual tracks and they dont seem to care as much.

well its cheaper to obtain yes, probably 3 - 3 1/2K for an R33

still gonna be just as expensive to bring it and "register it"

Be sure to stay away from MotorRex if they are still in bussiness, I heard way too many horror stories about them.

I heard some loop holes about if you PCS from Japan to England then to the states the military will bring your car for you
but this was 2 years ago

wow we went from drifting without powersteering to talking about importing skylines. As for the original topic drifting without powersteering is just dumb its more work for you leaveing greater chances for mistakes. fi you can affored to work on a skyline you can affored to replace powersteering components that wouldnt cost more than 50 bucks.

it be a bitch but ship it to canada and drive down. pretty sure thats how the two I've seen in SoCal were done. On your way down get it registered in Wa cuz you'll have trouble even doing it illegally in Ca. I've never done it personally just relaying what I heard.

Negus (Ge'ez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ge%27ez_alphabet) ንጉሥ, nigūś, Amharic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amharic_language) nigūs; cf. Tigrinya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigrinya_language) ነጋሽ negāš) is a title in Ge'ez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ge%27ez_language), Tigrinya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigrinya), Tigre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigre) and Amharic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amharic_language), used for a king and at times also a vassal ruler in pre-1974 Ethiopia and pre-1890 Eritrea.

My name is Shabaka which is the name of an Egyptian king. Thank god my dad didn't call me Negus instead lolz

Im pretty sure you guys are just capping your PS lines.

You need to loop the lines, route them to a breather.

Do not plug the lines, do not just Loop the lines.

Use the largest hoses, and the shortest path to either a T- then to a breather, or my favorite;

A box with 2 AN fittings on the bottom, and 2 breathers on top. All your doing is displacing fluid without PS, so it needs to move freely. Thats a correct P/S delete. Capping or looping the lines will just cause thigns to leak.

And doesnt your P/S pulley act as a tensioner to the water pump belt?

I looped it on my Hachi never had a problem. I used a long line also

They are seperate belts so each one has its own tensioner

Almost busted my pinky when I tried drifting without power steering. I bought all the shit to fix it, but I'm always busy.

I have a NRG deep dish wheel that has all those holes in it, and my pinky got caught in a hole and the steering wheel like...took control of itself and whip the shit out of my pinky...luckily i caught it with my manly force.

How long does it usually take to take out the SOHC stuff and put in the DOHC power steering?

Now that you've removed the belt and drained whatever fluid was left, it's a matter of time before you cause further damage to your pump and/or rack. Fix yo shit before you cause yourself more problems down the road!

I drifted with and without. Its the same... well considering when I drifted without I was used to dd without, and when I drifted with, It was after dd for a while with. When I first drove my s13 with after driving without, It was a little weird, and one time my belt broke on my s13 with, and that was hard, but looking back at it, both were no prob at the time. I hope that made sense, Im a little drunk.

That shit hurts!!! But drifting without powersteering isn't too bad. I like it just for me doing controlled donuts is harder than doing a course or big turns
