Just wanna rant and rave for a bit. I got my tires on my car (Michelin Arctic Alpin on 95 Maxima SE rims) on my S14, and it makes ALL the difference in the world. It's so much fun to drive in the snow!!! Finally snowed here today.

Just wanna say, I recommend snow tires.. Made much more difference than I anticipated =)

BTW I have open diff still.

i should try a set of those some day, atleast for the rear tires. Right now my Potenza's work great but it really doesn't snow much where I live... although its snowing now.

haha

Yeah, I've been stuck three times so far this year. . . I'm great at driving in the snow, just terrible at parking in it.

Yeah I'm the same way. . haha I LOVE driving in it with traction. Seems like all other times I have bald Z rated tires. .

I hate getting stuck in parking lots.. FLAT parking lots.

i can vouch for snow tires.... having truck-like blocking kicks ass in snow :p when everyone else is struggling to get up a hill, and you can stop right in the middle of it, ask them if they need help, then keep going on your merry way, your tires are damn good.

hahaha yeah!! I mostly got them because I live at the top of a hill. When I leave this place, I have to go up a hill anyway I go, then the one coming back home. I used to get stuck on it ALL the time and leave my car overnight. =(

It's FUN to drive in the snow, and today I was pissed to see they had plowed so much. Any car I buy now, will also have snow tires (unless I get outta this place haha)

I need to acquire some snow tires.

It snowed last night and I almost didn't make it home. :(

I know how you feel. It snowed last year, maybe a little more than it did this time, but not by much. Took me about 2 hours to drive 3 miles (no traffic) and I never even made it all the way home. I left my car about 3 blocks from my house by the entrance to the neighborhood. I was stuck on flat road. But thing was.. I HAD the snow tires last year. haha. . but had a screwed up lugnut.

I really need to get some snow tires or at least some weight over the rear tires. I get stuck in the parking lot next to my house all the time.

Yeah it's so frustrating isn't it? I know my neighbors laugh at me when I get stuck. Last year, when I got stuck, they called the cops because my car was sitting there, and they were mad. The people that live here are a buncha assholes. The cop was cool as hell, and offered to help. Looked like Drew Carey haha

I don't know if there's anything stranger than being stuck on a flat surface ;) Today sucked just trying to get down my road. Every stop sign I just sat there spinning and barely moving. I'm going to try sand bags in the trunk first since that's more in line with my budget right now.

I personally think Nokian Hakkapeliitta Q's are one of the best as for winter tires.

Forgive me for sounding like a dumb chick, but I never understood what the sand bags and kitty litter was used for.

I know what if you get stuck, you can put the sand or kitty litter on the snow for more traction, but what does the weight in the back of the trunk help with?

Also, I just want to say that I hate you people who live in FL, CA, NO, and other states that don't get snow and a lot of rain. :p fawkers! :)

weight in the trunk = weight over the drive wheels = more traction, although it also means more inertia to work against.

anyways.... i think snow tires just look badass anyways. even if there isn't snow... i'm betting these tires would love some dirt roads :p

It's used like Ace said.. Simply weight over the drive tires. I was stuck a few days ago in my friend's driveway and all he had to do was hop on the trunk and away I went. And he's scrawny too so sand bags will work wonders. The only bad thing is the added weight in the rear can change the way you're used to the car reacting during a spin or slide.

Yeah they look mean. . haha truck wheels and tires for a truck-spec 240 right?

I took mine on a snowy back road and felt like colin mccrae or somethin'

You can drift in tie snow and maintain control... I held my car sideways in the snow, which is something I've never done.. and recovered from it!!
