Hello Bay area drifters !! Im originally from the Bay Area, I have been living out in virginia for the last 6 years competing in the US Drift series out here and Im planning on coming home in the next few months. My question is, is there any events near or in the Bay area? If so what are some sites to check out to see venues and schedules. Thanks for the help !!

As I understand it, thunderhill (willows) is the most consistent for stuff like that.

There was talk of events going on @ altamont (tracy) or at a nearby airport but that seems to have been pushed aside for now.

The latter is more up to date. Again, it would seem that TD is the only available venue at this time.

We had altamont for a little while. Then the new neighbors complained :bs:

Road racing + autox seem like the only legal motorsports that we can do at this time. I'm gonna look into that stuff to see if one could get a deal on track time.

I wouldn't say that legal bay area drifting won't happen but I also wouldn't hold my breath. :hsdance:

So where are the nearest tracks that do hold drift events? All in SoCal ?
If so where in SoCal ?

Thunderhill is the closest. August 2+3 is the next thunderdrift session.

Don't worry about not being good.

People at events aren't as critical as they are on this forum.

Norcaldrift.org is where... I guess the track guys are at, there are far and few between, I am trying to make a event at Buttonwillow on the first.

do you tow your car to events? because if you dont you should just go back to VA. smog laws make this place so shitty i'm almost fixin to move. I only drive my car on weekends and im so paranoid i cant even enjoy myself. hell, getting it smogged is even harder. couple that to the lack of backroads that you might be accustomed to in VA, and you just might go crazy!
