uh, hardbody's came with a KA24E stock, so since the KA24DE is a direct bolt in, I would imagine the SR20 would be too, only problem might be firewall clearance, which is easily solved with a sledge hammer.
btw, the KA24E/DE is what came in 240's as well, meaning any parts that work for bolting an SR20 into a 240 should work for your hardbody as well, as far as the engine goes, but you might need to get a custom drive axle made, which isnt too hard.

Cool thanks man. So the motor mounts that i have now for the ka24 motor will work for the SR20DET MOTOR?

To swap in an SR you'll need to do all of the things you would ned to swap an SR into a KA-E 240. It shouldn't be too hard. You may need custom wiring though because the body harness of a hardbody is different. So really you'll need to relocate the Power steering- i think and do some electronic work.

Which KA does your hardbody come with? And is it 5 speed?
It says on the inside of the drivers door KA24 and yes it's a 5spd

the hardbody came with a ka24e motor. It's actually very easy to swap in the sr but I'd actually recommend something else. There's a really nice hardbody in Roubidoux, ca that has a small block Chevy motor in it. I find the larger displacement motors to come in more handy in trucks. Just a small suggestions. 240's benefit more from the sr. Plus, the 350 in stock form could be bought and rebuilt for really cheap, it's easy to work on, and the swaps are super easy.

Can you tell me more about this? so you're talkin about a v8 350 chevy motor in my truck? I'm lookin into the SR20DET swap because i like boost and this is my daily driver and i need to get somewhat good gas mileage still...

With the size of the hardbody being slightly bigger displacement is needed. If you're just in love with boost and want to save money there's a few available parts to turbo your ka. A Gladman manifold is cast and probably offers the best for reliability and offers boost. Actually, I have no more need for mine, which was never used so if you're interested pm me. You could find a turbo pretty much anywhere, locate a intercooler and have an exhaust shop fab up ic piping. Cheapest way to go IF you wanted to stay legal.
But just a small disclaimer, I don't like the ka's for turbo. They offer a iron block with poor ribbing and is prone to crack on higher boosts. I DO NOT advise to turbo your 240 with a KA for sport, but if you're just lookin to improve performance (and gas milage) a turbo is the way to go.
A 350 small block v8 will not get good gas milage. You're only talking about 12mpg at best but it's a great mini truck motor for performance. Plus, the swap is pretty easy. Plus, if you're looking for towing jet skis or small boats it could hold up. There's stuff all over the internet showing people dropping 350's into boats and stuff, go google it.
good luck
you can get well over 12mpg with a small block, are you crazy? tall gearing + cruising at 1,200rpm = not that bad MPG

I have a 69 Maro with a 350 and I get right around 12mpg. It also matters how you punch it. But I have to admit it's fun as helllllllll
what gears are you running in the back?
i've got a rx7 with a smallblock, cam, headers, intake carb. I would love to get 12 mpg :-\

12 bolt posi with 4:11 gears. I'll post pics soon but, along with my 240, it's been sitting for a while.

here's a shitty one when I was looking for parts. But it's in really good shape. Since this pic I've put in the rear end, new carpet, and just cleaned it up. It WAS an RS but I put in the 350 and new seats. It's an awesome ride.

I swapped a kae from a hardbody to a 240sx before. i had to change the pan and the strainer, and as well as the pullies.
the subframe is very different
you'd might want to keep that in mind when you try to swap a sr from a 240sx

why mess around with a sr20 in that truck? get an lq4, lq9 with some l92 heads, and cam.. you're in modded rb territory, plus 20+ mpgs to boot!
