After alot of hard work, Derek Fintel and I [James Fries] put together the first drift event in Kansas. The event was hosted at Heartland Park Topeka, on the Nationals SCCA 25acre skid pad.
Considering this was the first drift event and that it was not advertised or anything the turn out was fantastic. We had 34 drivers and +150 Spectators!!!

Here are the photos from us clutch kickin' cow town kids.

i'll bet he's just got an sr

you shave a couple hundred pounds off the front end of a 240, and the usdm suspension
goes sky-high at full tilt.

Stock KA. The car looks like that because he crashed his red zenki in the front, and totalled his green kouki in the rear. Yeah.

The kid needs suspension, he is hammer down throttle to the floor all day long. Its very entertaining to watch. like not in haha funny but in a how the fuck can you make a stock suspension'd car do that.

It was fun watching all the cars drift. Too bad I am not into drifting anymore and instead chose to hit the road course that day. Nonetheless, it was a fun event altogether and I got to meet some really cool people! :)

James, good job on getting this event together. I'm sure it took a lot of hard work and persuasion to get the drift event going.

what's this supposed to mean?

i say that because the only other time i've seen a 240 on stock susp. rise up so high was
one that was completely bone stock everything, but had an sr swap.

looks like lots of open space at this event. gives a chance to get really creative with the track setup.

The roadcourse is amazing! Quite a bit challenging to manuever on a couple of spots, but a doable track that can be quite fast if you get your pace right. I'm going there August 13th as well, so it'd be nice to see another 240 out there.

I need to talk to my boss and see if I can get off for that. I think I should be able to because I am a software tester and the weekend before we are pushing a huge update to our software that I have been testing all summer so hopefully there isn't too much that needs testing after the release. I am hoping everything goes smoothly.

Yup, mine was the only 240SX on that track. It was a white S13 with black fenders and bumpers and Nismo LMGT4 wheels. If that doesn't help, it was the car you may have noticed that was quiet on the first lap, but afer losing all the bolts that held the downpipe and header together, became so noisy that it was hard for me to hear for two days. I'm sure you probably heard the car as it lapped around where the drift event was going on. :)

Like every fluid you can put in a car drips from it, plus some unidentifiable fluids haha.
Slow dripping though, nothing terrible, I've been driving like that for years, so just depends on if the track people spot it and decide to be strict about it.
I'll just cover all the spots where fluids drip with gasket maker before I leave. :)
And my car isn't in my name and I can't get it transferred. Family matters, long story. Last name's the same though, so I guess I'll see.

Wow, three posts and you're an expert on the quality of cars in Kansas.

Being that you apparently are oh-so-great, why don't you bring your car and go at it on a road course against my silly little 240?
