i replaced my front main seal and it is like a mm or 2 out of the motor. seems really snug and i cant get it any deeper. is this normal.

I just replaced mine a few days ago. It does not sit outside the engine at all. I had to take a very large socket and tap it a bit to get it to fit all the way in. I believe it was actually 1 or 2mm in.
Try tapping it in a bit with a large socket, and see if it goes in any further.

i dont have a socket that large so i guess i will try a rubber mallet.

did u use oil?
it should fit snuggg mine was a bitch as well tap it is the key

dont forget to use oil and tap it gently. if you do some damage on it. not good

i put some oil on it and put it in the right way for sure. i got it a little more in. it still sticks a mm out maybe if not 1/2 mm. i drove it home and it was fine so far. ill see if starts leaking soon i guess. this is on a KA btw not a sr.

I don't think the problem is that it will leak, but that the face of it will rub on the pulley if it's not all the way in.
It needs to go further in.
