Corvette Concept

This first showed up about a month ago ot he set, but with just crappy pics. Now that we've got a real good look at it, I thought it deserved it's own thread.

OK guys, I have some crazy speculation. Listen close.

Looking closer at a bigger pic there are def. Vette styling cues there. I think we may be looking at the next gen Corvette Concept. It would make perfect sense. The release date for the movie is Jun 2009. They would be using the movie to introduce the concept to the world. I can't think of a better way to get the concept seen then putting it on probably the biggest movie of 2009. It's def. a change from the usual Auto Show unveil, but GM has been trying to do some things outside the box lately.

that concept is really hideous . it looks nothing like a corvette and the proportions are way off in my oppinion . hopefully the finished product will look nothing like that . im sure it will look cool in transformers , but i think they can come up with alot of better designs then that .

The front and rear fenders, the front fender scoop and body lines racking across the doors, the split in the rear window...

Looks exactly like a vette to me. I could tell what it was from the first pics that were spied.

That's bascially from drag.

GM said that the next Vette is going to lighter, less hp, and more efficient. So them really pushing the limits of drag with radical aerodynamic lines and shapes makes sense.

Yup, Mako Shark version went through head. Albeit designed by someone who had taken some bad acid. LOL.

In other words pretty fucking ugly. Of course its from Transformers which pretty much explains all. LOL

Definitely Stingray/Mako influences.

It needs a little more refining for production, but I could see this working.

I like every thing but the rear bumper. I has aspects of every vette before it but the current iteration. Flatten/black out that rear end and I'm in love.

In this pic you can see the front grill better. Again more retro styling. But over-all even though it's takes some cues from Vette's of the past, it doesn't look like a car that was designed TO BE a retro styled car. Which is a very good thing IMO.

Yeah, I definitely see some later-year C3 in the grill. Which I don't really like...if you're gonna pull cues from classic Vettes, why pull from the ugliest one?

I like the C3s, but only the metal-bumpered versions. Something about the mid-70s to early 80s ones just said "mullet" a little too loudly.

your seeing the lines from the C6 platform. The headlights, rear and other areas. To me it's not a corvette, it looks damn fugly. I like the C6 platform but I still like the C5's better. They still have the pop-up headlights.

So it turns out I was partially right. It is a Corvette Concept, but not a straight C7 Concept.
