It looks like Sony will be offering movie downloads now just something to look forward to. And for the people that don't own a PS3 they will be dropping the price on the 80gig PS3 to $399. So it looks like Microsoft X box 360 has the most expensive consoles on the market ($445 for the elite). I wonder if this price drop would boost up there sales.

Sony to offer PlayStation movie downloads

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Sony is raising the curtain on a PlayStation 3 movie download service.

The company announced at the E3 Business and Media Summit it will launch a downloadable movie service Tuesday featuring films from such studios as Disney, Fox and Warner Bros.

The standard and high definition videos (http://topics.cnn.com/topics/High_Definition_DVD_Players) can be downloaded to the console and transferred to a PlayStation Portable.

Rentals will cost $2.99 to $5.99. Purchases will cost $9.99 to $14.99.

Sony also announced it will sell an 80-gigabyte PS3 (http://topics.cnn.com/topics/Sony_PlayStation3) model for $399 beginning in September.

Among the new games revealed were "God of War III" and "Massive Action Game," which will allow up to 256 players to battle online.

For the people with a xbox 360 check out the whole new dashboard for it its ridicules it looks a lot like the ipod touch interface when your browsing your music. Plus you can know make a avatar like in Nintendo WII and use them in some games like 1 V.S. 100

i threw a 250gb hd in my 40gb unit.. but no PS2 playability =(
*yah i could just play my ps2, but i dont have an old tv in my room to use the signal since i play my ps3 direct to my hdmi-to dvi pc monitor* i want to play the old metal gear games.

PS3 is pretty cool tho, you get wifi internet, web browser, media center * i got some avis on my hd*, messaging if you have friends on the playstation network etc.

Plus PS3 has achievements now so what more do you need? Oh, and GT5, whenever the full version comes out. I beat Prologue in two days :squintd:

really easy.. i think ive used like 20gb just from maybe a few demos, and all the boondocks episodes on it. I can imagine the movie download thing will suck since people will not realize they run out of hard drive space.

MOTHERFUCKING FREE.

streaming netflix on 360 is free if you have an unlimited netflix subscription, same as the netflix streaming boxes they sell.

also of note: voice chat with multiple people on 360.

combining the two: you can invite people to watch whatever video you're watching on your 360. it streams to their boxes and uses voice chat. up to 8 people at a time.

The 80gig that they will be selling in September is nothing more than a 40GB with an upgrade HDD. So you will still lack the PS2 compatibility and the extra input device ports.

Either way, I'm happy with my PS3. :)
