I had a real tough time finding 1st hand opinions on Redline Lightweight shockproof so i'm going to post this in case people do a search and would like some info...
About 6 or 7 months ago i had my tranny fluid changed at the dealer with who knows what... It was decent for a couple months (summer) then started getting real bad when the weather got colder. I was having problems with my 2nd and 3rd gear syncrhos grinding REAL bad, very hard to get into 2nd from a cold start. It was only marginally better after the car got warmed up, keep in mind this was happening before and after i changed my clutch master and slave cylinders. The car was driveable but not a lot of fun and i could just feel my tranny going to ****.
A week ago i decided to get off my lazy ass and buy 3 quarts of Redline Lightweight Shockproof after reading a LOT of reviews on tranny fluids and decided this would be the best for my needs. Well after driving my car a lot the past week i am happy to say this stuff made a nice difference. The tranny no longer grinds going into any gear, not even from a cold start! It takes a little more effort to get into gear due to the fact that this is a thicker formula than i had been using before, but the shifts feel a lot firmer. I would highly recommend this fluid although i have not tried any other synthetics to compare it to. If your tranny is less than perfect this would be a good $25-30 investment that i wish i had done a while ago...
