ok i was lookign at the autopower rollbars and i was looking at the race one http://www.optauto.com/store/images/AP-RACRB.GIF
or the street one
http://www.optauto.com/store/images/AP-STRB.GIF
now i figure the diff is the street one does not have the extra support, and a place to attach the harnesses to but i dont see how that is with the race one either. the bar in the back comes from the top?
i dont get it.
i'm most likely going with a custom one done at a local shop instead but would like to know.. does anyone else reccomend any prefab rollbars?

The rear parts go in the backseat area somewhere and the front legs mount right beside/behind your front seats. Looks like the street one allows people in the back seat??

Custom all the way, give the passanger a place for his/her harness too...

Here's a pic of bbp's

looks good.. do u know how much abacus is gonna chrge for something simple.. cuz that not bad price for the street one. and then i can get travis' dad to weld some lateral support in himself. for free.
he made a roll bar for his own truck.

I too would like to research some rollbars. If somebody can list all of the websites that have cages for a S13, I will be very appreciative.

thanks,

The full width harness bar for the race roll bar is an option, I think it's $50 or so extra.

http://www.takakaira.com/asp/template.asp?id=88&cat=3 This site has 4-8 point roll cages made specifically for your car, and the prices are pretty good too. Also, for anyone that cares, it's JDM

a "JDM" cage?? wtf for? i don't see how a JDM cage is superior to a custom cage or most anything else made here inside our borders. actually, i'd NEVER buy a "JDM" cage because all the sTuNnAs buy JDM junk just cause it is, so they can sell absolute crap to these people, and in turn, sell crap to you as well, and you wouldn't even know it.

f*ck JDM

nohting wrong with a homemade cage. if you want to get a "jdm cage" then copy the design. any good shop can do it..that's what i'm doing...6 point in 2003! YA!

Agreed, a cage is about as idiot proof as u can get. Buy the right sized tubing in the right spot and get a good bead on the weld...done.

Hmm, i forgot how much harder it is to read sarcasm on the net. Honestly I couldn't give a **** whether it's "JDM" or not, **** it. I do like the idea of a prebuilt cage though, just because it seems like there's less bull**** to deal with, especially around here where there are no shops that would build a roll cage.

ahh sarcasm haha..understandable then
i know what you mean about the cages being build. i wouldnt go anywher to get one built for me. if i didnt have access to local shops who are reputable, then i would go with a Safety-21 cage from japan instead!
