Does anyone know of a way to see if your calipers are seized or rubbing? I suspect my rear ones are.
I have a shimmy, bad brakes, and it accelerates really slow.
Thanks,
Jeff

Spin the tire and wheel with the car up on stands. Make sure it is in neutral with the brake off. it should have very little resistance and only a slight amount of contact noise. Does the pads overheat when just driving around town? That's usually a good sign.

your parking brake cable could also be causing the rear brakes to do that, if your rear brakes are rubbing after doing what the previous guys said dont use your parking brake, take it for a ride, and see if it still does it, the cable could just be shot...i dont know if this is a problem on our cars, but i know it is on alot of other ones, pretty much all cars just about, one good rule is either always use the parking brake or never use it...it might not be as much of a problem for those of you who live in warm season round climates, but the less fortunate members like me where its ****y 7 to 8 months outta year have to worry about it...

I had to replace my rear calipers in october I believe. The way I could tell, was to look at the boot near the piston. If it is ripped, or leaking, or stuff has gotten in there, that is a bad sign. Also my pads and rotors were ****ed, royally... so I replaced those also.
