I have a Do-Luck RXB and stabilizers for my s14 and have been looking around for a while now looking for a writeup of some sort but cannot seem to find any info on how to install it...
Do people normally install this over the carpet? Do you just unbolt the seatbelt bolt and slap it on there? Is there another bolt of some sort further back towards the rear seats under the carpet?
Should I preload the bar?
Any help is appreciated

I couldnt find a write up either when I helped install my friends Do Luck bar last year. Stupidly, I didnt take pictures :duh:
Since it is meant to be a chassis stiffening piece, you do not want to have any unneccessary stuff between the bar and the body. So its best to pull the carpet back to do it. We slit the carpet so that it would sort of cover up the bracket for a cleaner look. I have seen some cars install it the bar over the carpet, but its a pain to get a clean install, especially when it comes to re installing the seat belt bolt in the "correct" position with the right washers in place.
AND, PLEASE, make sure you have enough threading in the seat belt bolt when you put it back in. It would suck to have that bolt shear off if you got into an accident.
Put the ends in first, then use the tensioner to adjust the correct width and tension.
Dont forget to change the settings for street and track use. There were a few Japanese drivers saying the bar will cause your car to "skip" over dips and bumps because the chassis was too rigid.
Hope this helps!!!!

how much tension should there be?
Im assuming I just adjust the bars away from each other untill they are pretty snug??
How does the tension help with how the car handles?
Id figure too much tension can cause damage to the frame by putting stress in that area....
My car already skips from the 2way....
Thanks for the info! I will most likely install this tomorrow

The tension all depends on you, and want kind of feeling you want. The only way to know is to try out different settings for yourself. The tighter it is, the stiffer the chassis becomes.
2way skipping is different than the skipping I mentioned earlier. I meant your suspension will run out of stroke if you drive over a dip (your wheel will float over dips), which means less mechanical grip.

I've been looking for a rear cross bar for my s13 for some time now. Mind sharing where you got it from?

I had one ages ago, the install is straightforward, pull the carpet back and mount the bar to the seatbelt bolts, the rear hole on the endplates is supposed to be secured with a sheetmetal screw that's included, or you can pick up a pair of lag bolts, drill and tap the screw in. It's just to keep it from moving, it's not overly important to anchor it securely. Preload the bar by just tightening it as much as you can with the car on flat level ground. I cut the carpet to fit around it, just take your time and trim slowly.

Just got the bar installed along with the stabilizers... the bar itself was cake... the stabilizers kinda made it a bitch....
Anyway I just preloaded the bar to where there is about 1 1/2 threads showing on each end of the buckle piece... Def not as much as I could tighten but it felt like a good amount.
After doing that with the car on flat ground I jacked the car up and installed the rest of the stabilizers and tightened those down till they were snug.
I took it out for a test drive and honestly I couldn't tell much of a difference... I really didnt do much driving tho.
Edit:
If anybody cares I drove it around more today and noticed the car does feel stiffer while driving on the freeway... basically the seat feels more solid. Doesnt flex as much over bumps and stuff...
Next is fender braces and shakitto plates.
