so about a month ago my wallet got stolen while i was in san luis obispo for a friends wedding. i was super bummed cuz i had about $200 in it and of course my i.d. and debit cards and shit. so i cancelled all my cards and got em replaced and everything. move on, o well.
so i get home from the autococks meet tonite and i'm getting ready for bed (its about 12:15) and the phone rings and its AAA on the phone, the lady is asking if i lost my wallet. i'm like wtf cuz its on the desk in front of me, but then i realize that she's talking about my old one! apparently someone found it in a wamu bank and called AAA to have them contact me (my aaa card was in my wallet). so i got ahold of them and now i getta pick it up next weekend when i'm up there! i'm SOOOOOOOOOOO fucking stoked!!!!! i'd had that wallet since i was 17 and i never lose shit like that! just hadta share my stoked-ness with my zilvia brethren.

I had a wallet taking for evidence from police once...took 6 years to get back...
I guess I had same feeling for the piece of leather that touched my ass for 15 years.
good people still out there...ie the person who returned wallet.
you can run prints and murder the thief? lol JUST KIDDING! (kinda)

That's pretty cool. Sucks about the $ though. :( Just be glad it wasn't more.
I lost mine once and got it back in the mail 2 weeks later with every penny still in it. Funny things is, my wallet is pretty sentimental to me as well...
There's still a few good people hanging around in this world I guess. haha

damn that's super tight though. i lost my wallet at a circuit city, went back as they closed because that's when i realized i didnt have it. went back and asked them to check and they said they didnt find anything. so i cancelled everything and got a new i.d from dmv and what not and they freaking called me later that next day and told me they found my wallet with not one penny missing. it was a yay/i hate you moment. lol

that's cool. I almost never carry around more than $20 on me, so if I do lose my wallet, I won't be out much. One day I found some guys wallet in the parking lot of my apartment complex. He lived there as well. I walked over to his place and gave it back to him, money and all. He didn't even know he had dropped it, and tried to offer me some of the cash as a thank you, but I figured why should I get money just for not being a dick?

I lost a wallet in a McDonald's in 3rd ward of Houston when I was playing in a basketball league there.
I think I was like 13 or 14.
It had my social security number and address.
And like $20.
It was mailed back to me along with a note telling me that I was an idiot to leave my wallet there and that he was keeping my wallet because it's nice and the $20 for his troubles.
But he did send back all of my cards and such.
I was happy about that.

that's awesome you get your wallet back but that does suck that the money is gone.
there was this one time that my dad found 2k bucks on the floor in an envelope while he was standing in front of his bank's atm. This was about 5 years ago or so. Instead of taking the sweet loot he went inside, and turned the money in. GAH!!! 2K GUYS 2k just in an envelope and he turned it in....
but my dad is an honest man with a good heart so i think he did it because he felt it was the right thing to do. Finding people like that is hard nowadays. I don't remember whether or not the bank gave him something for turning in money of that amount. To my recollection i think he did, but i don't remember what exactly.
i say they should have just gave him the 2k. like nahhhh Youuuuu keep it. :)

I lost my wallet one time in Alta Loma on the sidewalk and a VERY VERY VERY cool girl actually found it and emailed me on my myspace. I didn't even realize it was gone until she emailed me. I dropped her a little cash, which she didn't even want but I gave it to her anyways.

good stuff. that reminds me of a news article i was reading. where this old lady got mugged and her purse got stolen with like 1k cash, over a million bucks worth of bonds in it and her wedding ring...
1 year later, she gets a package in the mail and its her purse with a note inside of it from the thief saying that he's sorry and only needed a few bucks because he was going through some shit. so he returned the purse with EVERYTHING in it but the 20 bucks that the thief took.
Karma goes a long way.
