What size speakers do you have in the doors of your s13s? I would really like to fit a 5 1/4" Components in there, is it possible? I'm not too good with the custom fab of stuff... :o

if you're not prepared to do some cutting, drilling and fiberglassing then i would suggest staying w/ stock size. I've fit 6x9's and 3 way components into my doors (well the 6" component in the door...) it's not too difficult.

Hey mrdirty, were you the one that used some wood and **** to fit some 6 1/2's fit? Do you got any pics or a write up or anything?

Does anyone know if Infinity 4x6 Plate speakers come with built in xovers? Also, are the front door speakers 4x6 or 6x9???

I put 6.5" speakers in the doors. I used a peice of lexan that I had laying around, cut the outside the same as the the yellow chunk of plastic that comes stock and then I just cut a hole in the middle for the speaker. I think it was pretty easy, but you have to be able to do some custom stuff, cutting and drilling.
5.25" shouldn't be a problem either. I am sure that any 4x6 plate speaker will come with crossovers. What would you do if they didn't, 95% of people would be screwed. The reference and the kappa systems both come with them.

The Kappa 4x6 do have crossovers built in, but they DO NOT FIT in the front at all without modification, and need some plastic trimmed to fit in the rear. They're a 4x6 speaker, but not a very elliptical one. It isn't really that difficult to fit something bigger up front.

Once you get the door panel off, pull out the black plastic mount, speaker and all. Cut some quarter inch plywood (or similar material) to match it's outer edge, drill holes in this to match the holes in the door. Cut out a circle for the speaker, slap everything together and go. You will probably want some waterproof baffles for the speakers, 'cause the inside of the door isn't guarded against the weather. Foam baffles cost maybe a buck fifty. If you have a component setup, get a hole saw bit appropriate for your tweeter, and drill a hole where you want it.

Search the forums, and skim the FAQs, this question has been gone over in pretty extreme detail in the past :P
