Well I found a pair of 30mm Z32 calipers on a 300zTT in the junkyard. I wanted to use these in order to do my upgrade, but I always hear about the calipers being rebuilt/remanufactured before being sold/installed. What is this all about? What is involved in the process of being "rebuilt". Is it really neccessary if I wanted to use the calipers I just found? I am assuming that after sitting so long in the yard, the calipers tend to rust up and freeze up and therefore not opperate as well as supposed to. I'm in SoCal, so what shops do the rebuilding on the calipers and for HOW MUCH???

You can DIY, if you have a few tools like a 14mm wrench, a small flathead screwdriver, and some time.
Rebuilding involves replacing all the rubber seals with new ones from a kit you can buy at your local dealership. You basically have to force the pistons out of the caliper halves, set them aside, replace the inner seals, replace the outer seals (on the pistons) lube it up, and reinstall them.
That's a quick & dirty explanation, and you can find FAQs and walkthroughs on places like twintirbo.net.

wow this is great news. This is what I was hoping for. I really wanted it to be a DIY project because $$ savings and less trouble of taking it somewhere. Thanks a lot guys, appreciate it! I hope that I can get the kit at the dealer though.
