im considering buying this car, then maye running 30mm rear fenders, then 20 up front, then running spacers to sit 'em flush
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j62/calisons/P6190356.jpg
the lower portion below the stripe is good
im not looking for perfect, but i cant sleep at night with a dent bigger than my head. http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/images/smilies/bash.gif what do you guys think?

$2500 with that damage? If your planning on keeping the car sure. Its not terrible its all very fixable. If the rest of the car is nice then go for it. Its up to you some would say thats to much others would say its fine. If the rest of the chassis is super clean and straight then its not bad.

yea the rest of the car is clean, that is the only reason why i am considering it.
im thinking of doing 30mm rear fenders and pushing them in so they only bulge out at 20mm or so
its also got a bit of suspension goodies and apexi dualn1s

Thats not bad of a price. You could worry about the dent later and do other things first. I see your missing a mirror on the passenger side, just like my car when I first got it. haha

looks like a solid car. widebody is a lot of work tho if you dont hack it.http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj263/mrjames240/phonepics0204.jpg

OP: Just because you plan on going widebody doesn't give you an excuse to pay such a price for a damaged car.
Either give the man/woman/tranny a lower price, or don't buy it at all.
Not to mention, red sucks in the way of if you want to repaint your car.

$2500.00 You could def get a better one than that one. go look for some on craigslist. thats alot of money to spend on a car that you will put so much money into work. but thats just my opinion.

seriously... I've been looking for another s13 for a while since i sold my last one... If your willing to drive, look in cities a little farter away. You can always save money if you look hard enough.

so i got the car, and i am happy i did.
i told the guy ill buy it if it passed smog, haha. this is my first 240sx that actually passed.
car came with a pretty bad *** system with tweeters, polks, etc
had a nardi wheel, nrg quick release and lock, tomei shift knob, b&m short shifter, tien tie rods, tanabe sways, tanabe rear strut bar, tein s techs on tokicos, apexi dual n1s, has jdm front chuki turn signals, and the oem fog lights with the switch on the bezel, everything works except for a/c, power slot rotors and hawk pads on the rear, new 215/50 dunlop tires
snagged it for 2100 now that i look at it, i can actually live with the damage, but im thinking of going 30mm rear fenders, then pushing them into a 20 or 15mm

I was thinking the price was high, but that was based on a mostly stock hatch with some meshies...
With that list of parts, I think you got a really good deal overall. Has the car lived in Vegas its entire life? i.e.- clean, rust free?
Looks like a great buy- have fun building it up!

I do bodywork, and I would say lower the price. 2500, is to high because you will have to spend more to make it the way you like... ill keep it simple...
2500 for the car
230 for a pair fenders in the front
230 for a pair fenders in the rear
450 for paint for all 4 fenders prepped and painted
====
3550 is this ok with you? if so go, if no, lower..

the car was a california car, i am the third owner
it is pretty well maintained, interior is the best ive seen personally. not much, but 240sx around here are riced the fuck out or just left to rot.
like i said, i snagged it for 2100. it just needs front brakes done, i just ordered some new calipers, had my rotors turned, new pads.. then it turns out, my caliper brackets are frozen.. those things that slide up and down and the caliper actually bolts unto.
i was also thinking running JUST over fenders just for now, then kitting it later on.
rims seem like a nice offset

remember, roll/cut the fenders when putting a widebody on the rear...
if you have any questions, feel free to pm me or call me up

Don't forget to weld it.
But do you have the money for wheels and tires if you go widebody?
Nothing sucks more than seeing a car with widebody fitting wheels that would look sunk even on an integra.

that is true, WELD, SEAL...
yes, keep in mind, the TOTAL EXPENSE just to make it decent...

my car has waaaaay more damage than yours....and a body shop could fix it with paint and body for under a grand! so if you want to stay stock have a shop fix it using a new stock quarter panel!

The car is worth about 1,000 dollars. Remind the seller of that. yeah its a popular car, blah se blah, but still. I sold my 240sx w/ silva front end for 1500, it ran great and its the best body I've seen on a DD 240 around my area since Cisco's.

that is what overfedners are for
have him knock off 200 bucks and buy overfenders

Pretty sure I win the quarter panel damage game... I'm just going to straighten out what I can, cut the actual metal and get overfenders.

Yea, I will be taking it to the shop to get an estimate.
Obviously, prices vary from state to state.
Check craigslist in my area, people will be selling s13 zenkis with blown headgaskets for $3000
The car runs excellent, so I am happy

07-14-2008, 11:37 AM
I could post a bag of dog shit on craigslist, it doesn't mean it will sell, nor does it reflect the fair market value of it either.
But whatever helps you justify buying an overpriced damaged money pit, then by all means, go ahead.

1slow - at least your happy, in the end thats pretty much what matters, since we all have our opinions.
Get a dead blow hammer and a piece of wood, haha that might bring it back out a little hahaha... if you can get to the damage that way from the inside... but ya many ways to fix that, but at least it runs well and your happy.

you'd be suprised.
also, aren't most 20 year old s13s overpriced damaged money pits? with the exception of those free/handed-down/stolen/won in a bet/paid for with sex-cars.

No.
Not unless you're a dumbshit.
I bought my car and it had no damage.
Why? Because I'm not a dumb shit.
So, does your car have damage?
Check 1 if it doesn't which makes you cool.
Check 2 if it does which makes you a dumb shit.
quarter pannel damage is lame
and for 2500 you could get yourself a clan s13 just wait it out i personally wouldnt pay more than 2k for that car and thats east coast standards(teh :keke: ) oh well its vegas so at least you dont have to worry about rust and fucked up bodies.
!Zar!
07-15-2008, 08:44 AM
Yeah, for $2,500 you could own a clan of 240's.

How did the OP get butt raped on the price?????
Did you not read the thread. Did you not see the entire list of parts that came with the car???
He got a hell of a deal.
I sold a 90 s13 completely stock with kyb struts and eibach springs for $2200 with 140,000 miles on it and it was an automatic. I threw in power doors and a spare hatch with the deal but I think the OP made out good on the car.
ILoveMyRHS13
07-15-2008, 11:12 AM
I would have paid $1800-$2000 for it if it didn't have QP damage... Yet I paid $1800 for my red hatch (auto) with 62k miles on it...

so i went to my local earl sheib, got a written estimate on dent repair on just the quarter panel, not including the gas or passenger door, nor paint.
came out to a whopping $214 and some cents..
i guess it really wasn't as bad as i thought
i heard the guy say its 5 some hours of labor..

Doesnt work.
If you car has damage you either:
Drive it like its supposed to be driven
Dont and suck at driving
If your car doesnt have damage:
You are a great driver
Just got it painted
Dont drive it and front like you do
Either way you cant make an asumption.

Hows $5 to taco bell, relevant here? You use a soft shell taco to sand your car?
