I just bought a Powered By Max radiator(s13 sr), and a breather tank(for radiator). I did not want to spend 300+ for a koyo and wanted a breather tank too. So I thought I would go a different route.

I already bought the stuff after a little research and talking to Powered By Max on the phone. I have not seen any reviews on their radiators and wanted to know if any of yo have one on your car.

Any feedback is welcome, thanks.

I didn't even know that they made a radiator. I'm interested in any info too.

I bought the rad.(s13 sr, theare all $200), breather tank, 2 meters of silicone hose, and a drift button for $312 shipped.

They are cool people, helpful on the phone. I will be getting a cage, and ALL the suspension they have in august.

I have a ton of pbm parts not the rad though and everything has treated me good so Im sure that stuff will be no difference.

Pbm makes good shit. And you cant really go wrong with a radiator. You'll be fine.

Breather tank won't work.

thats a oil catch can with an extra barb on it.

Thats an oil catch tank with an extra barb fitting.

that won't work for a swirl pot or expansion tank.

if you put that in your cooling system your car will overheat.

throw it away.

PBM stuff seems super strong and legit, some buddy's i know run it and they have nothing wrong on their cars.

One thing i will say is i want that mad angle kit that they have to offer. Tires almost go to a full 90 degrees

A freind of mine has a PBM radiator on his SR and it has never let him down.

i was thinkin on pickin up their radiator as well. dont they offer 2 different sizes or somethin? i coulda swore they told me that 1 of them was almost 300, maybe im wrong...anyways, i was also thinkin on sellin my megan track coilovers and trying MAX's. the tracks are a little too stiff sometimes

no, Dan has mention'd that they are designing a newer bigger radiator, but it's not out yet.

btw, i hear the PBM's are pretty fucking stiff 2..... so u might wanna look else where for coils... if u don't like it stiff. Just my .02

No, this one self bleeds the coolent system theoreticlly

you hook it up in a couple points, I believe lower radiator hose and bleeding screw hole.

Yeah, you need an adapter for the lower radiator house to hook it up there. You hook it up to the bleeder screw hole, to the regular overflow on the radiator itself, and then to your overflow tank. It self bleeds your coolant system so you dont get airbubbles, making you overheat.

Good info. I wondered how they worked, but never took the time to research it. I may pick one of those up at some point. So it needs to be hooked to the lower hose AND the bleeder hole, or just one or the other?

Mr. James I agree 100 percent with dori haha ive had there coils for well over a year now and there stiff as fuck so if you think megans are stiff then I dont recommend these for you.

both,

connect it to lower hose...to bleeder hole..nipple on radiator and to over flow...also in order for it to work properly the tank need to be higher than the radiator....making it the highest fill point. i have a greddy one....and it makes life easy when u need to bleed coolant

Touche!!! haha lolz

Back on topic...the powered by max raditator looks very good and after talking to Dan himself and a few other people I have decided to order it instead of a the koyo one. But I guess I need an s14 radiator because of the RB and they are sold out of those. I also ordered their subframe collars (50 bucks is a good deal imo), magnetic drain plug, angle spacers and DRIFT button WOOT!!! I am waiting for their super angle kit like most people! Shit looks dope!

Mehh, I like the koyo radiator better. I had the Koyo on my KA and it included a nice plastic drain plug. When I ordered the PBM for my SR, it was missing the drain plug and Dan had to shave down a bolt and included an o-ring. He definitely gets A+ on customer service, but I like the Koyo quality better. Just the smaller differences in quality. Like the radiator cap on the PBM doesn't sit straight. Or the overflow nipple isn't like OEM. PBM used a single barb end. Decent for the price, but I'd probably go with Koyo on this one.
