Damn the new VB forum stuff is phat. =)

Anyway... One thing to keep in mind, with rear wheel drive, if you slide, do NOT take your foot off the gas, unless you've only kicked it out a few degrees... Keep power on, but lessen it. Two situations will make you slide; full throttle, no throttle...

In the rain, I take corners and keep power on until the car is straight again, then ease up a bit. . . VERY smooth slide if ya do it right. . =)

thats funny, i just did the exact same thing this past wknd. i was coming out of my friend's street where there's a slight left-curving turn. and it was still raining a bit, so it was the perfect situation, or so i thought hehe. anyway, my friend chokudori told me to put some gas, and next thing u know i over corrected and spun about 360 degrees. whats scary is that it stopped spinning about 2 feet away from the curb  so im gonna lay off that for a while hehehe.

i was wondering about doing donuts also. not that i would do it to my precious car. i just wanna know how its done.

donuts are easy (now for me)
start doing big circles in a HUGE OPEN LOT!! DONT TRY IN A SMALL AREA!!
now, let the rear wheels break free, counter to stop it. do this over and over until you are comfortable w/ how it feels
let it break too much and see how that feels
practice those
once you find ou how to counter BEFORE it breaks free, do it over and over. you need a VLDS or LSD to do donuts all day because the open diff wont work as easily (need more practice)

once you get use to counter and when to counter you'll be able to do donuts all day. dont go one way though, dont want oil starvation! BE SAFE!!!!! PLEASE do it on the track! dont risk your car!!!

i suggest doing it on dry surface, more predictable. ihate doing any sort of sideways action in the rain. so lame.

im not claiming to be a drifter or good at it. just showing how to do something simple as donuts

Since we're kinda on the topic, does anyone know how to do burnouts. I ain't gonna do it to my 240, but I picked up a '87 Accord for $100 (Canadian $) and I got nothing better to do with it.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

lol I think donuts are even easier than burnouts.

Although, haven't done any donuts in my S14... waiting on the VLSD, because it truly does make a difference. Sometimes I'll make a U-turn and want to kind kick the back end out, and all I do is spin the inside tire haha

ive never done burnouts (dont drag) but in FR set ups

drop clutch at about 2-3 k, move foot and hold over brake (apply pressure) while pressing accellerator...push brake gently (wheels should be "free" so you dont need a lot of front brake pressure). RPMS are around 4-6 K and wheels burn up (speedo might show like 20 to 40 MPH)

i was told this so dont quote me

on FF
pull ebrake. dump clutch watch front wheels smoke up.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeee

yeah VLSD makes it all fun. i have a 2 way LSD ...cant live without it now haha..
