Anyone see this:
Older model Hondas and Toyotas consistently top the list, because of their popularity and reliability. In other words, there are just a lot of them still on the road, making them a bigger target.
Notice that there was no mention of Nissan or the 240SX in the article? They could steal EVERY active members' car(s) and the production/on-the-roads numbers would not even be high enough to make the list. We should all just thank our lucky stars for THAT much, and step our security game(s) up.

Also, this is kinda off-topic.

There is not an S or Z Chassis anywhere on that list. Only Sentras.

Moved to Off Topic.

In just its first year on the road, the 2007 Toyota Corolla made its way to No. 10 on the list.

Unless you're a big timer car thief like Nicholas Cage, you want to steal older, less valuable and in demand cars, so that list doesn't surprise me at all.

Why?

Harder to track, easier to resale and move without causing suspicion. Most people won't think twice about buying a cheap civic that may seem a little to cheap "Oh I lost the registration" etc. No one (who can afford one) would buy a Ferrari without papers and matching VIN's.

Also, people like us would be suspicious of a S-chassis being stolen, most other people wouldn't think it's WORTH stealing, so they wouldn't think twice.

Also, to the rest of you discussing issues that I have deleted....

DO NOT POST THAT ON A PUBLIC FORUM!!!!! THANKS.

i think the only people stealing 240s is actual dirty 240 owners themselves... i mean i hung around people who claimed they would steal a 240 for parts for their own cars, not to say i hang around them, but i heard. Be careful of who you let hang around your car and get to know you.

who wants 95 civics, 94 sentras 94 integras 94 chevy trucks? probably alll ripped for parts.

sounds like you are bitter, sounds like you belong to Nico... if thieves want your car, they will get it, there's nothing that they don't already know from reading message boards. Edit: So I see you're giving me neg reps, you think I really care? haha, here I'll give you a positive one so you can feel better, lol

leave the nico bashing out, i dont see what a forum has to do besides being a teaching stone to show people what these cars got.

07-09-2008, 06:34 PM
seriously, man....

why are you bashing NICO so much?.....

were you a member there or something?....

and just discovered zilvia.net or what?.....

ThatGuy

Yeah, no need to bash on NICO here. It doesn't serve any useful purpose.

I suggest you stop now.

By "suggest" I mean, knock it off or get Suspended from Zilvia.

i don't understand what is so good about 95 civic. it is same as 92, 93, 94 and share many parts (inferior to) 94-00 integra. i think that report must be bias to certain region.

yes i did
and yes i've seen what its like over there, anywaaaays... 95 civics probably have more goodies or if you want to call it that, like mandatory airbags and more models with abs and probably some obd2 components and whatnot... thats my guess

they all get stolen because they are easy to sell fast and cheap. and the more of the car produced the more it will get stolen. like cobalts, give them a few years. they will make the list.

You can check your state. Most old jap cars stolen here are shipped to the Caribbean or some 3rd world country since thats where these cars are all over the place.
