friday night hit and run

alright, i went to a party a couple of fridays ago, while i was in the party i looked up and i saw a big cloud of smoke so i was like someones peeling out. later, my friends and i decided to go to an after party and i was walking up to my 240 and i saw it, almost on the side walk. i was like did i park crooked then, i saw my wheel on the passenger side and it was all bent it and i said no, then i continued to walk to the other side of the car (now this was all happening slowly) and there it was my driver side door all smashed in and i said NOOOOOOO!! i sat down on the sidewalk and felt like crying. and everyone around me was saying that there was some guy throwing eggs at everyone and peeling out evey where and driving like an idiot, until he finally crashed my car left it for dead. now, the reason i posted this is im tring to figure out what to do with my car. right now i have only three opions part it out which kinda wanna do, buy an clean shell which i really wanna do or try to fix it which i dont really want to do body is kinda messed up and my driver side door doent open and dash got squased a lil bit here are the pics.

what mods do you have? did you paint the car? i dont see a body kit so i would just get a new door and fender for around 150 - 250 for both and take it to a body shop.. get an estimate at a good body shop.. i mean a new s13 shell these days can run you anywhere from 1500 to 3000.. so depending on the price the body shop gives i would take it from there.

i called the cops no updates on the driver being caught. no body saw the plate number either. i think the truck that hit my car was a 98 maybe didge ram like a metalic limeish green color.

Looks like you can salvage it. From what I see, its a door, fender and some suspension parts. Did you check for frame damage?

a drunk driver hit my 1996 impala SS with a 1 ton ford truck. He ran be left his front license plate and the cops got him that night. He went to jail for 5 years, so defiantly call the cops they might find the guy and put him away. Good Luck

its fixable, youre gonna end up spending more on a shell (theyre getting a bit higher on price in some places) the door and fender arent hard to fix the interior u can get a new one in time if it bothers... the suspension can be found in any junkyard... maybe time for a upgrade if u can afford the extra $$$...

thats my opinion cause parting out and getting a new shell well... i dont know i think its just better to fix up yours it isnt THAT damaged...

It's not repairable for less that it's worth. No one seems to realize the Apillar is pushed in too, hence the windshield buckling, requiring a side pull to line up the hinge area to the rocker panel. That alone would total the car without replacing any parts.

Part it and find a straight car to start fresh.

Man that is some messed up isht. I work in the insurance industry and unfortunately people will get into an accident and leave (most likely to avoid a DUI) but the bastards don't realize that leaving the scene of an accident will hurt just as bad if the cops catch up to you.

I feel for you and anyone that has to deal with this situation. Maybe a suggestion is to call around to some body shops in your area to see if anyone came in to get a dodge grill replaced. You never know what might turn up.

yea that what feel like doing. just parting it out save up some cash and and an s14 later in the futrue, or buy a shell so i can have ride to get me around. but i dont know yet. still trin to figure out what i wanna do.

If you report to ur insurance, they will put that in ur car record regardless and it will show up as an accident in the vehicle history.. if you dont have full coverage - your fucked.. thats what happened to my hit and run, and i chased the guy while my quater panel was in the tire. I could have just not reported it and never got that info in the vehicle history since insurance didnt help me i had to repair it myself.

took me a while but i fixed it
my old s13 was a POS years ago and i still drove it wiht a smile on my face lol

If he was peeling out in front of the party, there's a chance someone there knew him. I'd try asking around. It could be a friend of a friend of a friend. Then you can give him his grill back.
