With the new gtr being market up as high as $50k over sticker, who on zilvia is actually going to buy one of these, and what are you willing to pay?

the dealership i worked for, ( quit yesterday) they allowed people to prepay for the car, and then when they came to take delivery on their cars, the dealership said that those prepaid cars are now $115k and that if you want the car you "prepaid for" you have to pay more to get it.... that's fucked... i can't work for someone that shady...

and if i could afford it and they made a stick shift... well i guess i'd go with that instead of a z06, but it'd be a tough choice.

$115k at the dealer?!

Screw that, this one comes with manual, and will save you $15k.

i think anyone would!

i know the gt-r is the new "poormans super car (in the same sense that a corvette is as well) but 50% markup? thats such bullshit, they're cashing in on the og gran turismo crowed who have been fanboys since the game came out and can now afford it. once it depreciates (and it WILL) in a few years i'll pick one up. 30k-50k is more along my price range.

Blah you are posting this in July 08. lol You are a good 8 months behind. All the moves to buy a GTR were made about 8 months ago. I will say I was really looking to buy one. I contacted no less than 40 dealerships via email, phone and in person as a very serious buyer. The best deal I could get was 15k over and that was only from 3 the rest want big money over. Fuck that. Go shop on zilvia car for sale section and see what car you can get for 15k. No way in bloody hell could I live with myself knowing I dished out 15k to a stealership. Especially when they didn't give 2 shits about the GTR and what it means to Nissan. All they cared about (and still do) was how much money it will bring them. It was down right ugly if you ask me. That alone pushed me away, and I know pushed other potential buyers away on the GTR forums. On top of it 99% of the managers (yes you could only talk to a manager about buying a GTR) had know clue of any of the specs of the GTR. I love Nissan, but can't stand dealerships ANY dealership and this was as bad as it gets. Basically you have a dealership that is use to pushing altimas and now has a 997tt to sell. They have no fucking idea what they are doing. Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, even BWM is use to selling high end cars. What I experienced was a complete circus act. No exaggeration.

I love the GTR and someday will probably buy a used one, that way I avoid the dealership all together.

Let's see have a GTR and give the dealership $15k for no good reason.

OR

Buy a GTR at MRSP (it's been done) or used GTR down the road and have something like this parked next to it. http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=198830

Fuck paying over sticker. I can wait.

And even if I had the money, I'd rather wait for the V-Spec.

Hell, I'd be content with a TT Z06. Hello, APS.

Anything north of a 100 grand, I'm no longer considering a Nissan.

But alas, I'm just a poor college student. Meh.

Give it a couple of years, considering depreciation and lowered interest by that time...then look into it again. The guy that commented on people bitching about the cost of bumpers was right, most shouldn't even worry about this car other than dreaming. It is a great looking car, IMHO.

To address those who want stick instead of the computer assisted shifting, unfortunately it is now and will continue to be a part of life. That issue has been discussed/debated to death around the web. There are reasons for going in that direction.

Anyone considering actually paying $115k for a GTR, please hear me out first.
You can either be known as "that guy with the GTR," or for $1k less, you can be known as that total baller with the awesome car collection.
I've put together a collection of cars that will probably be more fun than a GTR, and will be way more impressive parked in your driveway than a single GTR.

$64k for all out awesomeness
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x158/DKapt/6349803345230214568IM107565x421_A56.jpg

$25k for when you need a change of pace from your 911 turbo
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x158/DKapt/7710642801243643691IM1MAIN565x421_A.jpg

$18k For long trips and impressing the ladies
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x158/DKapt/7076470076241620483IM1MAIN565x421_A.jpg

$7k for fuel economy with style
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x158/DKapt/7808781558247832391IM1MAIN565x421_A.jpg

A driveway filled with a 911 turbo, M3, XKR, and TT turbo would be way cooler than one with just a new GTR.

I'm not too fond of the 996 series porsches. They were the first of the water cooled dohc flat 6 models and the n/a motors had problems. The 996 turbo motor is different, but still, the 996 series doesn't hold resale value. The 993 and 997 are where it's at.

Before I shell out $115,000 for a GT-R...

I'd get this ($82,000)
http://www.vettefacts.com/images/2006-black-z06-corvette.jpg

and this ($19,000)
http://image.automobilemag.com/f/car-ramblings-reviews/three-wee-ones/1022376+w550+cr1+re0+ar1/honda-fit-sport.jpg

...and have $14,000 left over for mods, a bike, or whatever.

Note that $82k and $19k are the results of pricing to my own specifications.

Another option could be getting a regular C6 coupe for $63k along with the Fit Sport and having $33k left over...give the C6 twin turbos courtesy of APS, some nice wheels/bbk, and still have money left over.

love the GTR but way to rich for my blood..... solution: buy a nicely optioned c6 vette then buy & install the aps TT kit, wider wheels and tires, zo6 brakes w/ aftermarket rotors, slam it...... pow you got a almost 700whp monster on a budget

Anyone see the Corvette ZR1 on the Nurburgring??
For over 100k, i'd consider a 620hp corvette (added bolt ons...can easily do 700+)
