ok guys, i need some help here. i just bought some sard 850cc injectors for my SR redtop and i'm not sure how the injector collars go on. does the little lip face up or down on the injector when sliding it on? i think that's it. any advice /pics would be nice. thanks again :aw:

ok this is what i'm asking about:

Does the aluminum collar go on like this? also, the stock redtop sr injector is a different shape and gets thicker as it goes back from the outlet. i took out my stock injector and put the collar in the place where the injector would slide in and it fits perfect. just wondering how this fits with the collar on the injector because the injector doesn't fit in deep enough. I NEED HELP. thanks

solved the problem. took off the SARD o-rings and put on OEM rings. the sequence was..injector, then slip the aluminum collar on then put the upper o-ring on then put the lower o-ring on. done

I put these in last August and had a lot of fun with them, haha. If you need anymore help, pm me and ill get you whatever you need from my setup. As for the pins on the connectors, if you pull apart the stock clips and use a needle or surgery probe to remove the original wired pins, you can get stock toyota clips that the pins snap right into and they work with Sard injectors. check it out at a junkyard, its the cleanest way to wire them because you avoid splicing and such. I didn't do this and my wiring is kind of haggard because of it.

Yes, you did the oring thing right. The sards are the wrong size. You need the oem nissan ones. I'm not sure as to collar orientation but if you need it I'll check it out.

i got it. it was just annoying. I didn't want the possibility of hydraulicking my engine. anyways, i've never heard about the toyota clips?..would it act as an adapter of some sort? I have no problem soldering.

its just the stock harness has the metal pins similar to the ones you are supposed to solder and clamp the rubber seal/new pin. They just pop out of the stock clip and they pop right into older toyota/mazda injector clips, which then are a direct plug in to the new injectors. That way you dont fudge with the harness and can easily swap back to the stock clips without messing with wiring. It gets tight if you don't fully strip the injector harness to solder, and its a lot harder to do a cleaner job than what was done at the factory. I didn't want to unravel and break apart the plastic loom, so the limited wire and being stretched over the engine bay lead to reliable but ugly wiring.

When my tuner looked at my car, he told me I could've done that. It's an option and just extra info in case you want to go that route. BTW he said he pulled them from an 80s toyota for $1 or so.

Also for wiring, polarity doesn't matter as long as they are the same for all four.
