bout 118 indicated, i was more concentrating on my upcoming braking point than my speed, so i can't say for sure.

I hit the speed limiter in my s14. about 120. I don't think a 240's top potential speed is much above that though, becausi i was at about 5600 RPM. In fifth, there is about 11 MPH for every 500 RPM.

:D - Well- I had a friend of mine drive next to me(s14) in his supra and according to him I was doing just under 140 since he was at 140 on his speedometer and i was just behind him keepin up- of course it took a bit to get up there and going this fast is never recommended... it actually was kinda scary going that fast- but yea- thats my record-- my speedometer was way past 120 also..-- once in a lifetime for me .. phew.. for all you people that want to rail me about this- don't- I'm not gonna do it again- lol-- and I also did it at like 4 in the morning (no traffic and on a 4 lane interstate highway) -- oh well! I want to know if anyone has taken there 240 that fast ;) :D

I hit the top speed limiter onmy car every once in a while when I'm on I-85 on the way home from chapel Hill... It's flat, long and straight and no worries, this is just above 120, I gather it's about 125 or so, speedo stops at 120...

I've had 150mph recorded by Tag Heure timing gear on a runway. This was accelerating from a standstill on a 1.7 mile straight, could have got higher of the runway had been longer...

With limiter... 118 mph.
without limiter... LOTS of debate on this, but most people that have removed it and have a means of checking their speed (revspeed etc) over that point say 145 or 146 mph, redline limited. Not too bad... I dunno, I'll have to try it one of these days. . I'm thinking about using a handheld GPS unit to clock my speed.. I was playing with one a couple months ago, and they are COOL as hell... The speed updates as fast a digital speedo haha

Well today on my way home on I-70, I hit 120mph @ about 5800RPMS. The RPMS continued to climb until about 6K, then the limiter kicked in.

115-120, at lowes motorspeedway. I didn't let it hit the limiter and I was looking where I was going so I can't say for sure.

Once, when my governer wasn't working properly way up north on a nice open road and I can only guess around 200 km/h but I slammed on the brakes and drove by a cop at 180...

it's pretty hard to tell exactly but if the distance in markings are consistent past the last marking then, my friend it was right up there...

BTW: After more point on my license then I can count and a fortune in lawyer fees; I'm a reformed speeder. I take no pride in driving too fast and having endangered people, so I submit purely as past reference, take it or leave it...

I'm gonna use stealth technology on my S14... Paint that bitch flat black (better yet, find the actual skin from an F117a) and use that cool purplish radar resistent glass coating.

This is gonna be cool.

Yea....and for some reason I think automatic cars do not have a limiter.

It's my understanding that they don't have the limiter.

Why? I have NO idea... Kind of odd. Why did Nissan even put one on the 5 speed then? I've heard it was for emmissions or something, that. . at speeds over 118 mph, you put out too much exhaust? haha. But, the auto should put out more right?

So, that's prolly a bull**** answer. Anyone know?

Simple answer:
Limiter costs money, Nissan figures the hardcore are more likely to buy a stick, therefore only stick really needs a limiter.
