I was thinking about putting a header pipe on my s13, and mentioned it to my friend who also has an s13, and is pretty knowledgeable about the car. I asked him about pacesetter, and he wasn't to enthusiastic about the brand, if anyone out there has a pacesetter header or knows anything about how they perform on a 240 let me know... The main reason im considering pacesetter is because my only other option is hotshot, which is a lot more expensive, and ive also heard they they are a pain to install... Thanks for any info guys. :)

I haven't heard ANYTHIMG good about Pacesetter. I'd say save up for a Hotshot header.

Do it once, do it right! :)

everything pacesetter makes is junk. you might as well take the money you would've spent to buy the header and wipe your ass with it.

of course this is all hearsay, i've never actually used one thank goodness.

Another alternative is S&S but I have no idea who sells that brand. From what I hear the quality is in between Hotshot and Pacesetter. The S&S header is the only 4-1 design as opposed to 4-2-1(or tri-Y). The 4-1 design is catered to more towards top-end power. I haven't experienced or heard enough about S&S for the KA to promote/deter it's use. I did have one on my 8v Jetta and I felt very impressive gains, but that was due to the poorly designed exhaust manifold. This is no big feat but after I put on the header on my 90 Jetta 8v I was able to beat my friends 67 Mustang 289.

Another thumbs down for the Pacesetter. Thumbs up for Hotshot. As for the Hotshot fitment problem; they redesigned their stuff for the KA and supposed to fit better.

FIrst off, pacesetter makes sub-standard parts from what I have seen, but the more important reason not to do it (and probably the reason the thing is only 150.00) is the damn thing doesn't have any fittings for smog control, so you would be immediately illegal.

I've never heard or seen a good comment about Pacesetter. Remember, in most cases you get what you pay for.
