Moslty happens when im going up steep consistent mountains and when i drift or cruise on the interstate. Other then that its fine. Ive bled the system countless times, and made shore its allways full of fluid. Im not running a thermostat and i have flex-a-lite dual fans.
I dont know if my sensor is malfunctioning or if there seriously is a problem. I allways have this worry my motor will go if it really overheats all the time. I kinda figure its why im on my 3rd turbo, which is why im worried now. Ive had 2 t25's and now im on a t28, so i dont wana blow it...literaly.

you might want to put the thermostat back in and see what happen. Faster coolant flow rate through the radiator is less efficient then a slower flowrate.
In my case, I change the both coolant sensor and now my temp is steady.
good luck

Any coolant in oil or oil in coolant?

Try distilled water and water wetter if that doesnt work try switching to 95 -98 ford taurus fans they kick ass as far ass cfam Ill search and get the exact numbers.

It flows 2500 cfam on low they didnt mention high setting but its safe to say its well over 3500 cfam, ther is also a wiring diagram on this forum in case you need it. gl

you say you always make sure to top up your coolant. so do you have a leak?? this is the problem if you do.

No theres no leak i just make shore its full to eliminate that from the list. So the taurus fans are beter then 2 flexalite fans?

no thermostat = bad gas mpg.

maybe you need a new water pump. just throwing out a suggestion

My waterpump is fine. Not leaking or anything and worked fine on my last motor. Im running a Cometic headgasket on my rebuilt sr so I know its not that. Also the compression is fine. I was now told that no thermostat can make the system overheat because its flowing too much through the system, so I guess I will start using a thermo again. If that dont work I will be back.

if that works let us know for the next person who searches, and good luck.

What is the optimum running temperature of an sr? And what is the temp You should start to worry at?

I dont get how it sometimes work for people with no thermostat. I always figured that running without one, the coolant does not stay in the radiator long enough, thus allowing the same old hot coolant to run into the engine block again.
I believe the oem thermostat is rated at around 159 to open.
Iirc, your engine can heat up up to 220 with heavy load.

OEM thermo opens @ 76.5*C so depending on outside Temperatures probably ranges around 83-97*C
probably start worrying before 105*C depending on the radiator cap you are using
mine ran around 95*C with stock radiator and thermo on a kinda hot day
Now with Nismo Thermo and Koyo Alum. Rad. and dual Electric Fans mine runs around 70-73*C on a Hot ass Day

So I put a thermostat in I had lying around and it must be bad. The car runs hot after it warms up. So does the other 2 I have, so i'l just rock no thermo till a Nismo.:-/

I bought an autometer temp gauge, and when i turned the fans off the stock gauge reading was extremely hot and the autmoteter gauge said 130 f. whats gauge is right?

What Coolant Temp Sensor are you using? If the SR, Swap it out with a KADE and your stock gauge will read where it should!
